Understanding The Purpose And Properties Of Digital Graphics

Digital Graphics are used in this magazine cover to give insight to what is featured within the magazine. For example, we can see that this article includes an interview with Kim Kardashian; this is shown by the full body picture of her on the front cover. Kim Kardashian is an extremely feminine personality she co-owns multiple clothing boutiques, launched a fragrance line, designed a clothing line and a line of cosmetics all very feminine related actions. The target demographic is quite obviously women; we can infer this from the use of the colour pink which connotes romance, intimacy, compassion and femininity which are all associated with women. Also we can infer this particularly aimed at older women ones with jobs and Relationships this is from phrases like “Go Get That Raise”, “Bags! Shoes! Dresses! Our summer fashion obsessions” and “No-Drama Dating Advice” which apply more to women than men.

Digital Graphics are used on this DVD cover to promote the purchase Black Panther film. On the front cover the first that would catch the eye is title of the film “BLACK PANTHER” this is also the name of the superhero which the film is about. Black Panther first appeared in Fantastic Four #52 1966 so over the 52 years he has become an established character who has appeared in previous marvel movies. The Actor, Chadwick Bozeman, appears without the usual Black Panther face mask probably so those who recognise him and the work he is associated with, Captain America: Civil War and Gods of Egypt, would be interested in the film. Also the cover includes Michael B Jordan who has appeared in other works such as Creed and Chronicle also he has 7. 3 million Instagram followers and 942 thousand twitter followers which means he is a very well-known and famous person.

Digital Graphics are used in this advert to advertise multiple McDonalds beef burgers. This first thing that a potential buyer would see is the Big Mac which is the biggest burger on the graphic and is also in the centre which is probably the most well-known McDonald's product. The colour red is scientifically linked to hunger and making people hungry or at least increasing their appetite. The way the burgers are shot from a low-angle, psychologically the effect of a low angle is to make the subject seem strong and powerful; in the case of the burger it’s to make it seem almost perfect in a way.

Digital Graphics are used in this web image to advertise a flash sale. The first thing a potential buyer in this flash sale would see is the “30% OFF FLASH SALE”, this is the most noticeable thing on the web image as it is the biggest writing on the image it is also in bold red and white font which is accentuated against the dark background. The colour red is quite energetic it’s proven to increase your heart rate and creates urgency it's often used for sales, like the one above, it makes buyers impulse purchase. The phrase “HURRY OFFER ENDS” this also a tactic being used to make the buyer impulse purchase this also creates a very sudden sense of urgency. The image on the left of a victorious boxer allows a potential buyer to self-insert themselves into that position that is the reason why he is facing the opposite direction so his face is not shown.

Digital Graphics are used in this graphic to show a person (from the features we can presume a women) with colours streaming from their head. If we assume this is a woman then this image probably has ties to the modern day feminist movement which promotes free thinking and intelligence among women, in this instance the thoughts in this image are portrayed as the eccentric colours. This image may empower women because of the pose that she is in with her chin up; this is commonly seen as a power pose or sign of fearlessness.

Digital Graphics are used in this video game advert to advertise the Sega genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog. The first thing a potential buyer would see on this digital graphic is Sonic the hedgehog running through the advert at light speed, this makes sense as many will know Sonics character was based off running extremely fast. This was Sonic’s first public appearance as he first appeared on the Sega Genesis the console being advertised, the big black font saying “Think Fast. ” really stand out against the plain white background. The point of this advert is to rival the Nintendo system the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) or more specifically for Sonic to rival current king of platformers Mario. , Yuji Naka, programmer and team leader of the original sonic games, has made it clear the speed of sonic the hedgehog was made to rival a slower more repetitive game such as super Mario brothers and Sonic’s speed made it easier for more experienced players to run through the game.

Digital Graphics are used in this multimedia product to inform people about student bullying. This image qualifies as a multimedia product because of the combination of the different content forms words and images. This multimedia product use a big bold banner saying “STUDENT BULLYING “right next to two images of the USA which has 245, 436, 423 active internet users meaning nearly 250 million people who can view this graphic and relate to it. The image of a young Caucasian male of ordinary or smaller stature being bullied by an abnormally large also Caucasian male, roughly 40% percent of the American population is Caucasian males so we can assume this image is used to be relatable for the largest demographic. Around the sides of the infographic there is huge white font showcasing different numbers and statistics which are quite intriguing. Such as “77%” which probably includes if you are read the infographic and people are much more likely to care about something if it relates to them.
