What The Plagiarism Is And My Attitude To It
Plagiarism is a major quandary in today’s world, Have you ever thought in your mind that you are plagiarizing, and you do not even ken about it. Plagiarism conventionally occurs when people leave their assignment for the last second, or when one does not understand the assignment very well. Usually, when a student is working on a homework assignment at the last second, what transpires is, the student freaks out about due date time, and searches the essay online to facsimile majority of it without giving them any credit. Mostly people that do that cerebrates they will get away, but do not realize the penalization for it if they get caught. In addition, when a student does not understand the assignment, they take the facile route and utilize someone else’s work, to make it theirs because most of the time, the student is too indolent to endevor and understand the assignment. From the second paragraph to fifth, I will define plagiarism and tell you what I think of it, what I consider plagiarism, and whether the penalization for plagiarism is fair or not.
In my case, plagiarism is a malefaction, and people that plagiarize should be given two admonishments, after the first warning there should be a big fine, after the second warning, the person stealing should be apprised what plagiarism is, and make the person take a class on plagiarism where they go in full detail, and if one decides to do it again even after the class, they should be locked up behind bars because it is astronomically unprofessional to utilize someone else’s work without giving them credit. The reason behind that is, the other person probably spend hours working, and thinking of ideas and you just come, take their hard work, and label it as your own.
According to Merriam-Webster online, “Plagiarize means to steal and pass off the ideas or words of another as one’s own, and in other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. ” When people hear the word plagiarism, they assume that plagiarism is facsimileing something word to word and submitting it, but they do not ken that plagiarism is much more than that. Even if you take someone's conception, or utilize a photograph that someone else took, that would also be considered plagiarism. The main quandary is that, an abundance of people do not ken the real definition of plagiarism, and that is because we are not properly taught in schools and colleges, if we get taught properly, maybe there might be a less plagiarism rate in this world.
There are several causes of plagiarism, and one of the leading cause for students I feel is specifically the education system and the guiders. As students, we do not have enough information about plagiarism. There is a fine line between taking conceptions and quoting to taking conceptions and exhibiting it as your own conception. I believe there is a quandary in the educational system, and the system is not right. Additionally, the school districts should be more responsible and train the students not to plagiarize. I believe that teachers and professors are equipollently as responsible for the students that are plagiarizing, and in every english class, they should take time and verbalize with each student in detail before big essays. The quandary is that mostly all professors tell us plagiarism is lementable, and plagiarism is a melefaction, but do not really bother to expound what plagiarism genuinely is and what are the consequences to it. I was taught in my English 1301 class by Professor Ferrier-Watson that back in the days, plagiarism actually meant abducting a child. It is that serious of a melefaction, and what is even more disappointing is that a lot of professors still don't teach it. I was never told in so much detail afore taking my English 1301 class in college.
In a recent Election of 2016, Melania Trump was accused for plagiarizing Michelle Obama’s speech which was presented in 2008. The interesting point is the words were not the major quandary, it was the main conception of the verbalization which was similar. She did not get in a lot of trouble with it, but it did engender some controversy. Afterwards, Melania fired her speech writer because it was the speech writer who got the blame. According to US Today, Melania describe her family in her speech very similar to Michelle here is a quote from both speeches, Michelle Obama: "And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you're going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them, and even if you don't agree with them. ”
Melania Trump: “From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. ” Here it is observed that just playing around with words cannot hide the reflection of ideas and as consequences, Melania dealt with a lot of accusation and hate because social media is a very strong element and the people know exactly when someone is plagiarizing, and now there are multiple websites for students which authentically tells whether your essay is plagiarized or not. I highly doubt that Melania got permission to use the speech otherwise credit would be given. A similar thing transpired with Joe Biden, According to CBS 6 Noon. In fifth grade, I was accused for plagiarism because I took an conception and made it in my own words, I cerebrated that this is my own words, so technically it's my idea, but I was wrong. At that time, we were not edified MLA citation, we were not taught what plagiarism authentically is, I still don't cerebrate it was my fault because the teacher should have been more responsible in expounding what plagiarism is. Anytime you use something other than your brain, always tell where you got it from. When writing essays, I conventionally put a citation page on the last page where I can show my professor precisely what website I got it from so in that way, the professor is apprised, and the author gets the credit as well for his hard work.
In conclusion, plagiarism is something many people get confused about so if you are getting confused, always research about it online, or ask a professor. I believe plagiarism is something that should be reviewed because if someone takes an conception, and presents it in a totally different way, that should not be labeled as “plagiarized” because we all get conceptions from each other, and sometimes a lot of people think similar so you might not even ken the author, and your essay could get labeled as plagiarized. The truth is, every writer gets inspired by an conception, and sometimes just by hearing that idea out, the writer gets a different idea in his mind. Everyone learns from each other so if someone is saying they don't, then they aren't being honest at all.
