Writing About My Son: a Reflection on Becoming a Parent
Being a mother it is truly a blessing. I remember myself during the first stage of this experience: I could talk about my son, as in this essay, all the time, literally all the time! When my son was born, my life changed in ways that I never could have imagined. Suddenly, I was responsible for another human being, and my days were filled with the demands of feeding, changing, and caring for this tiny, helpless creature. But as the weeks and months passed, something remarkable happened: I fell in love with my son.
The bond between a parent and child is one of the most powerful and transformative relationships that exists. From the moment a child is born, a parent's life is forever changed.
