A New Strategy Of Tobacco Business: Teen Vaping Epidemic

Tobacco has been going on for a few centuries. It has been presumed for tobacco to go way back as 8,000 years ago. Later on cigarettes became more popular throughout the eras and now in today’s society there are Tobacco companies. It has been shown that Tobacco has some serious consequences and can lead to massive destruction. Especially since tobacco has many health effects and is affecting many around the nation. For example, a usual around a 10 million people or so are dying from the use of tobacco. What Tobacco or Smoking is the act of getting a cigarette and inhaling then exhaling the different chemicals contained in a cigarette but the most dangerous chemical that is drawing attention to smoking is nicotine. Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical and since that is bringing up business the companies now thought it would be better to bring out a new product which are vaping products. Also vaping is the act of inhaling and exhaling the vapor in which the nicotine is inside the electronic cigarette.

Vaping to begin with is the act of inhaling and exhaling the vapor which is produced about the E-cigarette. Vaping products contain a battery, cartridge for the e-juice, and heating place where you can recharge the battery. E-cigarettes come in many different flavors and that attracts many individuals especially teenagers. This can be dangerous for our society because of the vapor inside the e-ciggarttes that now contain a higher dosage of nicotine and just left that chemical in the vapor of the vaping products. In cigarettes there are many chemicals in them but in E-cigarettes the companies just basically take out all the chemicals and just leave nicotine in them to make sure the vaping product is more addictive. In this way the Tobacco companies won’t lose business and could keep hooking more people in the community each day. Some companies are being or getting conscious about the effects that the vaping products has on the new generation. The most dangerous thing is teenagers are getting more hooked on Vaping products each day and that is really hurting our society and creating an epidemic. Vaping is bad for our society by causing a public health epidemic, costs us in our society economically and morally, but also as a society we need to find ways to bring down the epidemic.

It has been shown that many teenagers are consuming vaping products more often each which is bad for our society. “A concerning thing is that there is very little research on the effects of e-cigarettes that many teenagers perceive it as not dangerous and are more susceptible to it”. Since there are not that many alerting stories or articles about affected teens then they don’t perceive vaping as an issue. Little research on a certain issue for example if a virus rapildly spread and if there is no research about it then it could turn dangerous. That is also the same as the teen vaping epidemic that’s going on since there is barely or no reasearch shown to the teens to prevent them from falling in this issue then it’s dangerous. Since many teenagers are not educated on the way vaping can harm their health they perceive this trend as nothing dangerous. Since also no education is taught to the teenagers about a dangerous substance then that substance like vaping in this case will have a greater chance to grow.

It is just not healthy to see many teens getting more attached to these products more often. “The amount of teens that have been using e-cigarettes has grown tremendously”. The number of teens that have been vaping has grown more in numbers and continues to grow. This is causing problems in our society by hooking more teens each day. E-cigarettes are now mostly affecting more and more high school students. This epidemic just doesn't help our society instead it is just destroying it and leave teens with addictions. The teen vaping epidemic is also dangerous by leaving teenagers with a greater chance to get started on other substances. “Vaping has been shown to increase the chance that a teen will abuse other substances”. Many teens can later on have a greater chance to abuse other substances if they try vaping. Vaping can be the start to a whole new world of addictions which is and will affect the youth generation. Also vaping has more nicotine than a normal cigarette and can affect the society by having more and more addicted teens each day.

An essential thing to know is that this global vaping epidemic in our teens is now costing us in the society financially and morally. “When the whole vaping situation started in 2015, a company spent over 1 million dollars on advertising on the internet and launching campaigns”. Companies are now starting to spend money to advertise and to launch campaigns on social media especially since many teens use social media. The JUUL Company wants to spread the message to reduce teens from consuming Vaping Products and is spending money to advertise. This company is spending thousands and thousands of dollars to stop this epidemic from continuing to target the youth. As mentioned above, companies are trying to stop the consumption of Vaping among teens. “A company called Bloomberg Philanthropies has donated $20 million dollars to a tobacco industry to monitor on the e-cigarette business”. Industries as well as Companies are trying to reduce the consumption of Vaping among teens. A tobacco industry is throwing in money to watch over the e-cigarette business so they can monitor their demand to the younger generation. They are determined to wanting to bring down this epidemic among the teens so they are also putting in the money to fight this social issue. They want to minimize the number of affected teens.

As some teens want to fit in this costs us in our society with our teens. “The F. D. A. is trying to see what the purpose on why companies want to hook more and more teens”. F. D. A is trying to determine if the company that makes the Vaping Products is intentionally making them to sell to the youth which in this case are the teens. If the company does indeed make it especially for the youth then their economy or business goes up. Furthermore, that can cause a big social issue by the individual getting more and more hooked so the F. D. A wants to reduce the purchasing of Vape Products especially among teens. In that way the social global Health epidemic among teens can be terminated. Next as a community/society we need to figure out ways that we can reduce this epidemic to help improve the health of our teens internationally. In this way we can help save many teens and prevent from future generations to fall into the epidemic of vaping that’s going on right now.

One way we can help is to stand up and speak up especially in boycotting. “CVS Health is one brand that is taking the moral support to boycott e-cigarette companies”. CVS is the first major brand to boycott any company that promotes the action of vaping. They started the “Quit Big Tobacco Campaign” which has taken the stance to instigate the quitting and boycotting of Vaping. Tobacco is especially targeting the young generation and CVS wants to reduce the spreading and bringdown teen vaping but to also prevent from younger generations on trying it.

Another thing that could benefit on decreasing the teen vaping epidemic is on raising the minimum age laws. “An increase in the minimum age internationally could limit the purchase of vaping products and decrease death rates”. Since some states are considering on increasing the minimum age to buy cigarettes, Vaping Products, and smokeless tobacco from the age of eighteen to twenty-one. This can help Teens by reducing how much nicotine they inhale which damages their ability to learn and focu. Increasing the age could reduce teens from getting more addicted then they already are. Also if the minimum age increases then the teens will have less access to the products. Plus it it could reduce the smoking rate.

Education can be a necessary key to prevent teens to the alerts they should be aware of on e-cigarettes. “FDA’S Youth Tobacco Prevention Plan, wants to aim the campaign to educate the numerous amounts of teens who are open or are using e-cigarettes”. The agency just wants to advertise its “The Real Cost” campaign which first advertised years ago until now. This campaign that wants to educate the youth in this case the teens which will educate them in schools by doing in-school ads nationwide to prevent an even bigger epidemic. That way this campaign can reduce the amount of e-cigarettes that teenagers consume and make them more conscious about their health. These ads in high school bathrooms may seem silly but can be effective and that way schools can help teens to stop vaping. Schools also want to help their teens out and make them more aware about what they are doing to themselves. Nothing is more important than your health. Teenagers need to understand that these announcements in schools can help teenagers to realize that they can do better with their life by destroying it. Vaping can also lead to health effects like: bad teeth, bad breath, lung problems, and most possibly even death. These advertisements can be an eye opener to teenagers to help them realize the importance of their lives.

Like mentioned above many teenagers don’t educate themselves enough to know how vaping can really affect them. “Young people think that vaping will do no harm to them”. Teenagers in this generation can be very stubborn people and not want to maybe educate themselves about this social issue. Teenagers just don’t perceive this as an important problem that is affecting not only where they live but throughout the whole world. We need to educate our youth about the basic key points in order to prevent them from destroying themselves even more. The teenagers have whole life ahead of them so they can be ignorant and just keep looking the other way on this social health issue that’s really affecting our youth. The best key to ignorance and for prevention is the education and that’s why it’s necessary to educate them.
