A Report On Ledumahadi Mafube Dinosaur
Back in the early Jurassic Period, there was the dinosaur that walked in a very weird way. This dinosaur was known as theLedumahadi mafube, and it would not stand on two legs. Like an elephant, this creature was on all fours, and would crouch when walking. Ledumahadi meant “a giant thunderclap” and mafube meant “dawn,” so the dinosaur was also known as the “Thunderclap at dawn. ” This dinosaur was also a large plant eater with a huge gut system. This gut system helped them digest more food. Since this animal ate so much it could be about 49 feet long, could stand up to 13 feet, and could weight up to 12 tons or more. Later on scientists found these bones coming out of the ground, that looked to be 200 million year old fossils. These scientists found a interesting bone. It looked to be a wrist bone, the bone then helped scientist interpret how the dinosaur walked. As more different bones that seem strange for a dinosaur came up from the ground, scientist learned that this is a special dinosaur. As they look at the bones, and analyzed them, they found out that this dinosaur would only live up to fourteen years. By the time they were 12 - 14 they were an adult. So as they moved forward they started to evolve into a much different organism. Today they are not the largest dinosaurs, but they are the most unique when compared to their incredible walking ways. In the late 1980’s, scientists in South Africa started to find 200 million year old bones that belonged to a huge dinosaur from the early Jurassic Period. By 2017, they had recovered all its remains, including a wrist bone that finally helped them determine how the organism walked. The creature, which traveled on all fours, would crouch when walking. It was about 49 feet long, 13 feet tall, and weighed up to 12 tons or more. It was so large that scientists named it “Ledumahadi Mafube” using the native language of the region. Ledumahadi meant “a giant thunderclap” and Mafube meant “dawn,” so the dinosaur became known as the “Thunderclap at Dawn. ” This giant was a plant eater with a huge gut system that helped it digest more food.
Scientists also learned some other interesting things by looking at the bones. Like the rings of a tree’s trunk, the L. Mafube’s bones had growth rings. This discovery led the scientists to conclude their specimen was a fully grown, fourteen year old adult. They think the size of the creature’s gut may have caused it to lean forward, and this is why it walked on all fours with bent arms. Over time, other large plant eaters appeared. They evolved with straight legs and spines designed to support the weight.
So, although the Ledumahadi Mafube were not the largest dinosaurs, they are among the most unique with their incredible walking ways.
