About LGBT Rights and Its Importance in Pakistan

LGBT stand for gay, bisexual, transgender people. LGBT is a group of people whose sexual orientation, gender identity or sexual characteristics differ from the acceptable majority of the population, who are male or female. They were otherwise called transgender, transgender or intersex people. The term is mainly used to describe LGBT people, especially gay people. There is little right that LGBT is not getting in Pakistan. They do not have the right to speak freely, there are opportunities for attachment, and there are ideal restrictions on family and parenting. In many countries, living together means being gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or intersex (LGBTI) daily discrimination. This discrimination could be based on your sexual orientation from name-calling and bullying, to being denying a job or adequate health care, the scope of unequal treatment suffered is wide and damaging. It can also be life-threatening.

In many cases, people with LGBTI are harassed, beaten and taken to the streets. Sometimes they are killed just because of who they are. Massive violence against Tran’s people has claimed their lives. Many anarchists around the world have been forced to pass through Dangerous, invasive and completely unnecessary Surgery that can cause lifelong physical and psychological side effects.

These are some rights that most of the countries give to LBGT community:

• Anti-discrimination legislation that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in all (goods and services, employment and profession)
• Registered partnerships for Homosexual couple
• The right for same sex couples to adopt children
• The permission of fertility treatment for single and lesbian women
• The same age of consent for different sexes and homosexuals
• Asylum Law: Specific legislation to grant asylum or asylum status to people who are being persecuted on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity
• Free choice of first name for transgender without the need to have a sex change

Why LGBTI Rights Are Important?

Everyone should be proud of who they are and who they love. Eliminating homophobia and transphobia will save lives. Harassment with anti-LGBTI indicates people are at higher risk of physical and psychological harm. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

By embracing LGBTI people and understanding their identities, we can learn how to overcome many of the restrictions imposed by gender stereotypes. These stereotypes are hurting society as a whole, explaining and limiting how people are expected to live their lives removing them sets everyone free to pursue their full potential, without any social barriers.

People with LGBTI, especially transgender and gender-neutral people, are often at risk of economic and social exclusion. Fighting for laws that involve more people regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity them access to their rights to health, education, housing and employment in some countries, transgender people can have their gender legally recognized. However, in most cases they have to endure humiliating practices, including psychological diagnosis and irreversible sterilization, which is a violation of their human rights but having sex with a same-sex, partner is illegal in 70 countries. In Bangladesh, Leone, Qatar, Uganda Barbados, Guyana, Sierra and Zambia, you can go to prison for life. Nine countries have sentenced homosexuality to death: Afghanistan, Brunei, Iran, Iraq, Mauritania, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Yemen.

Pakistan is Religious country which is theirs is a very strict law about same sex marriage and all this. If we give the right to LBGT community then the biggest question come that what happen to our religious freedom so it really have to stop harassment and violence toward LBGT but we have also think to not forget about who we are and what our religion so Pakistan Government have to focus on this situation and give the best proper solution along with our representatives which concern about this issue.
