Analysing the Struggle of Refugees in Inside Out and Back Again

A refugee is a person who is forced to flee due stuff happening in either country or state. Inside Out and Back Again is a story of a girl and her family forced to leave due to the war that is happening in Vietnam. A lot of challenges that refugees faced while fleeing home are starvation/malnutrition. During the war the people who rich had no problem escaping and getting safety easy people like Ha's family who are not financially stable don't have a lot of money to escape easy and that means a lot of those poor people are starving. Another they might face is leaving behind everything that means if you Granpa gave you something valuable to you or something like that you will leave it behind cause only take things that you need and things that help you survive. The last challenge that they may face is danger cause while fleeing war there no guarantee that they may escape unharmed cause columnists wherein streets looking for people to kill or capture. But while finding home homelessness will be solved the cause of organizations help refugees to find homes and help language that they may face and leads to starvation cause if they get a job they will able to feed their family plays these organizations help by giving food for a certain period of time. The danger that they may face in the country will be gone cause they are far away from the things that may be happening in their state or country they will be safe.

In the book Inside Out and Back Again on page 24, it says 'a pilot from south Vietnam bombed presidential palace downtown afternoon.' Bombings going in Vietnam and it could anywhere not only just presidential palace. And maybe they could have just decided to do a wave a-bombs on Vietnam and shows how dangerous to live there especial al dust and rumble that's is their bad environment to breathe in. Another quote in-text children of war it says 'the war started two years ago and over 200,000 people have been killed and 2 million of them have been forced to flee.' This same as the bombing and many have died but this shows how staying country full war can result to many casualties and if they continued to stay in a place full of war then they would have been more 200,000 deaths that why so many people have fled and 25 percent of those people age group of 10 - 17 that even show kids are suffering by themselves cause their parents killed either by bombings or on street for a weird law that might have been put or just cause soldiers were having a bad day anything could happen. In the text panic rises in Saigon it says 'thousands of desperate Vietnamese try to flee Saigon... if your a lucky passenger you would have head for cart airforce base but for unlucky went to drug stroes for tranquilizer and sleeping pills to commint susicide if worst comes to worst.' Many people try flee war fearing of being toutured or een killed for that mater and us airforce and trying day and night to help the refugees flee and there some lucky who make it aboard but theres other thinking of suicide of worst comes to worst that shows that the war isthat stress and painful menataly and physicaly if. A challenge that they may face while finding homes is homelesness and here are quotes to back this theroy it says page 69 'at noon the comminist crashed their tanks through the gates of presdential palace and planted the roof a flag with one huge star then he adds what no one wants to hear its over saigon is gone .' This qoutes explains that most poor people had to take a ship from us toflee saigon and most of their belongings are their land their life style the way of income is gone and most of people were in disbelif at first cuase the quote no one wants hear so that means altot of people were just discouraged maybe some sucidal to think their whole in saigon is just gone.

While finding the home she will stuff that happened fing like this quote hear'we pretended the monsoon has come early in the distance bombs explode like thunder slashes lighten in the sky gunfire falls like rain distant yet within ears, eyes not that far away after all.' Will overtime cover up cause she manages to find a friend when she fled and even though emotional scar will most likely still be there it will be covered in new memories of good things. Another quote shows how things will better you flee you can return home after the war or whatever happening in your country or some people can't go back but this quote some conflicts last forever even tho it feels like it 'April 30, 1975, north Vietnam and south Vietnam united' that show that stuff will get better it just takes time like how ha fled to Alabama and was there manage to get a letter from her farther that shows once things die down stuff that you worried about will usually go away. This quote children of war say 'he lived in a refugee camp for a year now attends highschool' that gives a perfect example of how stuff can get better in life all have to do is take time.

So the stuff I talked about is how refugees when to flee they are faced with danger from the soldiers and anything could happen. They are also faced starvation/malnutrition cause poor people made not have a lot of food to go around and they also face separation form friends family or belongings which could be very detrimental in this period of time that refugees lived in. But all to most of these challenges are solved with help from either the organization on how danger when fleeing the communist or whatever threat they are facing will spread war to a stronger state. Just cause couple thousands of people fled so refugees will be safe. They will be given food for a period of time cause either of refugee camps or either organization that help refugees find homes. Organizations will help to the best of their abilities to give them home tutoring to for language barriers they may face and will pay bills for a period of time just like they do with food and help them find jobs so they can become not rich but financial stable. All of this kinds of help and struggles I found in the book “Inside Out and Back Again” amd that is why I choosed to review it within this topic.
