Analysis Of Political, Economical And Cultural Effects Of Belief System

Globally, can belief systems hinder the political and economic growth of a country and does it always have a negative effect on its culture?

It's no secret that belief systems tend to hinder the political and economic growth of a country and it tends to affect the culture of a country at the same time. Belief systems revolve around religion. In most countries especially in urban areas, there are many sacred activities where different belief systems compete against each other, this tends to create intolerance. This at times results in them to go to war. People tend to believe that their opinions and beliefs are far more superior compared to different communities beliefs, therefore, this creates rivalries. Intolerance between belief systems tends to slow down the economic and political growth of a country. This negatively affects the country by further deteriorating its living standards and this leads to unemployment and underemployment, as it may be harder to look or create new jobs due to the insufficient growth in the economy. The culture of a country is also affected as different religions tend to affect the culture and traditions of a country in many ways. I will examine political, economical and cultural effects of belief system.

A belief-system tends to affect countries political system quite dramatically as politics is often observed to be influenced by religious points of view. Belief systems tend to create differences between political leaders and communities in general. As everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions and this causes a lot of problems. Ascertain belief systems may oppose other belief systems, there customs and ideas. This then causes people to be furious. This not only causes countries to fight against one another. But it also causes countries to have internal conflicts. For example, in Pakistan, there are many issues between Shias, Sunnis, and Ahmedis. This causes them to have internal conflicts. Internal conflicts not only cause the country’s political situation to look weak but it also negatively affects the economy. It results in unemployment, poor living conditions, crime rates tend to increase, and the health conditions tend to take a turn for the worse. Throughout the country, Shia Muslims tend to face smear campaigns from Sunnis where they declare them as “non-Muslims”. This is since they have a severe intolerance against them and they tend to use their opinions and perspectives for them and choose to label them as something they are not. While Ahmedis who stood amongst Jinnah’s most loyal and faithful supporters in his journey to create a Muslim homeland known as Pakistan, today they are completely unrepresented and are living as outcasts in what's now known as modern Pakistan. Furthermore, Pakistan's government policies and organizations have become deeply sectarianized, and all the non-Sunni Muslim representation on the cabinet-level has now been restricted to mere symbolic assignments.

A belief-system also tends to greatly influence a countries culture, a person grows up following the several laws that their religion or belief system imposes. While belief systems also negatively affect the culture of a country as different belief systems have different rules and regulations and different customs and other belief systems might not always agree to the same customs. This tends to affect the culture of a country. For example'- Back when India and Pakistan were not considered to be two separate independent nations and were under the rule of the British. This caused way too many wars and oppositions. Like the British, they had a very different belief system and a perspective. Therefore they brought in the western influence which greatly influenced the Hindus and Muslims. Firstly Hindus and Muslims they both have completely different customs and religions. A rivalry between the two was already going on. But when the British came in with their western culture just brought out a lot of differences. Some Indians were quite accepting of the new change and tended to adapt to it quite quickly. However most of the Indians heavily opposed to the new developments and customs. Therefore this just proves that belief systems tend to oppose one another and this there again creates differences between communities and countries which further leads to wars disagreements, wars and a downfall in economic growth and political growth.

Majority of the worlds belief systems are still against and oppose basic human rights and are against social approval and acceptance of communities which seem irreverent to them. Many religions such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, etc. are against homosexuality and the LGBTQ+ community. This negatively affects the political and economic growth of a country and its politicians, this results in a decrease in the employment rates and increase the unemployment rates of a country. In various countries, the LGBTQ+ communities still have limited access to jobs and employment opportunities. This can result to negatively affect the economic and financial growth of a country, as the incorporation of the LGBTQ+ could cause the employment rate to increase, and this could easily lead to more modernization and urbanization in a country.

Due to many faiths in different belief systems, the idea of women working is suggested to be intolerant in the society This can also yet again be seen as human rights subject to numerous, however, it can also a significant reduction in the economic development as there could be a higher employment rate if more women were involved in the workforce. The World Bank affirms that currently there remain 104 economies with labor laws which restrict women from taking certain jobs. It is conveyed that this concerns the employment opportunities of 2. 7 billion women. In Russia, women are not permitted to drive trains, and there are about 455 other restraints. In 18 countries it is authorized for husbands to prevent their wives from working. In Belarus, women are permitted to operate with pesticides, and in Malaysia, women have been restricted to transport goods and passengers by road, water, rail or air at nighttime. However, to every obstacle, there's always been a solution. Some necessitate longer figuring out while some are easily identified. The solution to this problem has been here all along. The solution isn't to create some sort of scientific device or some new advanced technology. But it’s just humanity. Sure belief systems are very important as they build up our lives and have a huge and major impact on our opinions and perspectives. But the solution to the problem is humanity. Human rights and having empathy for one another is very important. As, if we just stick to our own beliefs and not force our opinions on others there would be minor culture disputes and rivalries. This would cause less internal and external issues hence it would also result in better employment opportunities and better living conditions. This would, in turn, help the economic and political growth of the country. Therefore, the solution is to encourage others to keep an open mind and spread awareness about human rights.
