As a company, Sainsbury’s believe that they have a strong sense of environmental, social and economic responsibility it is also believed that their success as a business organisation depends on the success of the society, meaning they do not believe in competition. Their excellence and values help to strengthen the relationship between them and their stake holders. A stake holder is someone who has a specific interest in a company but does invest into the business organisation. This strong relationship allows Sainsbury’s to build trust which in return reduces the operating cost, any risks as well as attracting and retaining talent in a crowded marketplace. The research undertaken has found that Sainsbury’s believe it is best work closely with their suppliers and farmers, as it is a way they reassure the customers, that the products being sold are top quality, it also allows customers to know how the products are produced and sourced. Their farmers and suppliers are usually from the UK or based internationally. Sainsbury’s is an international business organisation, this means that you can find Sainsbury’s in most countries.
Another thing Sainsbury’s care about is the planet and any effect they may have on the planet the try to limit the amount of water they use, and the amount of waste that they throw out by recycling. In order to reach their goals, Sainsbury’s work hard to keep their customers happy as well as keeping their stores clean and presentable. Sainsbury’s is a tertiary organisation, which means they provide services to individuals and businesses. The manager ensures that the staff are loving and caring towards every customer, and customers can file any complaints to improve their customer service.
Oxfam PLC
Oxfam is a non-profit organisation with an extensive collection of operations. Oxfam was founded in 1942 by Cecil Jackson–Cole and is run by Oxfam international. Oxfam headquarters is found in Oxford, England. The current executive director is Winnie Byanyima, has been since 2013. Oxfam PLC is a Public Limited company, which means it’s a large organisation whose shares are traded on the Stock Exchange. Stock Exchange is a market in which securities are bought and sold. The fact that they are a PLC means they have limited liability protection from shareholders.
Oxfam have six goals, which put local communities and voices those in poverty at the centre of change. Their visions is to have a world where men and women are valued and treated equally. Their 6 goals are to help people claim their right to a better life, champion equal rights for women, save lives, now and in the future, safeguard global food supplies, help people claim a fairer share of natural resources, and increase money for basic services.
Oxfam is a non-profit organisation as they’re a charitable organisation, this means that they are voluntarily helping people in need. In the UK, Oxfam have placed a green compartment called ‘Oxfam Clothing and Shoes Bank’ which allows people to put in any clothes or shoes that they do not want, this is given out to the people who are less fortunate. Oxfam provide very good services to the poor, as they believe everyone should be equal and they’re really caring towards the less fortunate communities.
Oxfam are an international organisation, meaning they are located in most countries (this is really good because it shows that the organisation is spread over most countries in the world, allowing the less fortunate to also have opportunities in life). It is a tertiary organisation, meaning they provide services to individuals and businesses. There are confederations of 20 independent charitable organisations, as they’re focusing on alleviation of global poverty.
