Analysis Of Samsung Recruitment Strategies

Every year in March and September, Samsung hires people. Every applicant has to get through a different range of steps depending on the position they applied for.

People who apply for and Entry-level will have to make an application than a document screening than an aptitude test than a comprehensive test and at the end a medical test. Applicants will need to submit basic personal information, qualifications and if they have any previous experiences. They will also need an appication essay when applying.

People who are Experienced will have to go through the same system as someone applying for an Entry-level, except that they will not haveh to do an aptitude test.

The applicants will also have and interview:

  • Entry-level apllicants

They will have an executive interview where they will be assessed on their basic knowledge and their ability to adjust to the organisation. This will take between 10-20 minutes.

They will also have an presentation interview where they will have to give a logical presentation on a given topic in a given time period. The applicants will need to demonstrate their language capability and they will need to ensure that listeners understand the material. The applicants will have around 50 minutes to prepare the presentation and than 30 minutes for the interview.

  • Experienced applicants

They will need to gave at least 4 years of experience-Applicants will have and experitise inteview where they will be required to give a presentation on a selected topic and later answer questions based on that topic.

They will also have an executive interview which will constant on the same way the executive interview is done for Entry-level applicants. For and Entry-level job, Samsung will choose the aplicants with the best aptitudes and best interviews. Having a good interview will allow Samsung to know how you will do your work.

For an Experienced job, Samsung will choose the applicants with the best qualifications, most experienced and best interviews. This eill help Samsung select the possible employees faster. Samsung has around 280000 employyes. It has more employees than Google, Apple and Microsoft. However, even though they have such a big number of employees they still continue to provide jobs.   • Internal methods

A company notice board. This means that Samsung could put posters with the job description on a bord so that people could see. This is very cheap. However, there eill be less candidates as not many peope will read off a notice board.

In a newsletter. This will be seen as effiecient. This is because most of the tine people that are reading newsletters are reading the jobs section. A disadvantage of this can be that not many people are reading newsletters anymore.

Internal vacancy bulletin. This will be the same as the newsletters. Also, there will bot be many candidates as people don’t read papers that much anymore.

A poster in the premises. This is very similar to a company notice board, except that this will have less word and will have a something drawn on them to attract the interest of people.

Some advantages of internal methods of recruitment are that they are cheaper to advertise (they could be free) and that there are a small number of candidates which means that they save time selecting the better candidates.

However, there are disadvantages to inernal methods of recruitment. Some of them could be that there are no new ideas or skills brought in and also that there are small chances of person picking up the job quickly.

  • External methods

Radio/television. This will be very effiecient as people listen to the radio while driving and are watching TV at home. By doing this Samsung promotes the business and get the interest of many people.

Job Centres. Everytime someone needs a job and they can’t find it by themselves than they will go to a job centre. Job centres will help people find jobs. Some people will want to work in the technological area and job centre may help them to get a job at Samsug. This benefits Samsung as they do not have to use any many on advertising.

Recruitment agencies. They are very similar with job centres, except that they will be chsrging around 10% of your salary.

Some advanatages of external methods of recruitment are that there is a wider range of choice and also, newcomers wi bring new ideas into the business.

Some disadvantages of external methods of recruitment are that the process takes longer and it is more expensive to advertise.

  • Online methods

Social media. As everyone uses social media it will be better if Samsung advertised on it. By doing this they attract the interest of people. This makes them want to check the advert and they will probably get interested in it and apply for the job.
