Animals Should Be Cared For, Not Killed

Ever since I was little I adored animals. No matter what they looked like, I loved them. In grade 6, I found out that we are hurting them. Not only are we testing on them, but we seem to consume land that animals live in, or farmers will spray chemicals on their crops to get poison bugs and mold, or fashion and we catch them and keep them as pets. Animals shouldn’t be tested on. We abuse innocent animals. Every year, millions of animals (which are mice, dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, birds and frogs). Yes, frogs. They are all put in cages, socially confined and traumatized. These animals are killed in U. S. laboratories. We use them for biology lesson, food, chemical, cosmetics and curiosity-induced experiments. When creatures are about to die, the animals are compelled to breath toxic gas, immobilized in restraints, holes drilled into they’re skulls they’re skin burned off or people beat their spinal cords till it’s just dust. Everyone has no right to judge.

A lot of people think animals don’t belong on earth, as if they’re an alien. The things that are going through their mind is something like this. “Animals were put on earth to serve us” or “Animals don’t have a soul so, they’re practically dead”, “They lack enough capacity for the free moral judgement” and “Animals aren’t members of our moral community”. I think the complete opposite. All types of animals have the right to be treated with same amount of respect as we do. They have the right to have physical, emotional and psychological health like we need the same type of health. To live in a clean environment (like water, food and air) but, we need clean water, air and food. To be loved, not how to use them for our good will. To share the earth with us, so we both live in peace.

The most important one is to have along life according to what they do and to express their individual characters. When we test on them, we cause them a lot of pain for them which takes away their chances of life. Animals have lives as well. Vision that you live in a locked room and have no control with your life and what’s happening outside of that room. You couldn’t choose what you were feed, what you did in your spare time or if you get a friend/partner, or who that will be. You couldn’t even have control if lights were on or off. That’s a day for a tested, mistreated animal lives everyday life. All of it is misery and torture. If you like Norway and Israel, they test on animals, so does India and The European Union. Products that you might have in your house, could test on animals. Products like “Vicks, Old Spice, Dove and Pantene” are some of the companies who test on animals. There are also companies who don’t. For instance, “Bath & Body Works, e. l. f. and Lush. Thank you to those companies who are making an example to others. Animals are as alive as you and me. They have flesh, bone, a brain, personality and rights just like us. Why do we use them to advance what science knows or to study viruses, or to develop forms of treatment for a disease and to protect our greedy selves? What happened to equality?

Don’t test, breed or hunt them. We would just make their lives harder than it is. Don’t kill them for food (or at least, don’t eat as much meat), clothes (wool or leather) or medicine (cows, pigs, sheep, dogs and goats). Don’t use the zoos to entertain you, watch them in the natural world like a forest since that is where they’re themselves. Please put this into consideration, pass on what you learned and educate others.
