Anti-Rabies, A Life Saver For People
Rabies, a disease an animal can be cursed with, and will only be identified after they are decapitated. Anti-Rabies, a cure for people who have been bitten by an infected animal and also a vaccine for the said animals. Rabies is responsible for the 200-300 deaths in the Philippines where animals transfer the disease through saliva to another body that is uninfected. Rabies function as a brain killer where it disrupts and spreads its virus starting from the bite point and unto the brain.
According to the Department of Health Secretary Fransisco Duqe III “We will lessen the shots of Anti-Rabies in terms of dogs but in alternative, it will be the prevention of dogs instead” with the reason of their resources are insufficient. Meanwhile, according to Ms. Romarie Aletia-SK secretary of barangay Langkaan I, “The dose of Anti-Rabies vaccination depends on how deep or big the bite was.” If the bite was bigger, anti-rabies would have a bigger dosage. She was talking about her experience since she recently had a bite. She also added that “Nowadays, the vaccine has many records towards preventing rabies from getting worse specially we always have stray dogs anywhere and the vaccine today can be ensured that is more effective than before.” Which means, it is good to stay alert and secure since rabies could be lethal if not treated properly.
According to Ms. Romarie Aletia-SK secretary of barangay Langkaan I, “The dose of Anti-Rabies vaccination depends on how deep or big the bite was.” She was talking out of experience since she recently had a shot of the vaccine. She also added that “Nowadays, the vaccine has many records towards preventing rabies from getting worse specially we always have stray dogs anywhere and the vaccine today is more effective than its early version Vaccines like anti-Rabies, works when putting small amount of rabies then the anti-bodies would be the one who will fight off the infection. Anti-bodies like muscles, it has memories so if the same infection attacked again your anti-bodies would know how to control it.
Anti-Rabies vaccines would be focused more to humans than dogs since dogs today are being captured and kept inside a dog pound. The vaccine mostly can be applied in health centers. Ms. Aletia said “since the bite wasn’t that bad, my doctor recommended me to have just 4 shots for it.” With bites nowadays, it can be prevented by either big or small actions.
