Atkins Diet Vs Keto Diet: Analysis
I have always had a passion for different types of diets and how it works with the body. I enjoy learning about new diets because it may be able to help and benefit me in the future depending on what my goals are. The modern diet trend I have chosen is the Keto diet and the older diet trend I have chosen is the Atkins diet.
The keto diet was accidentally discovered in 1862 by a funeral director who lost 52 pounds on a diet of cordial and meat. Even though the diet was discovered a long time ago it only really became something in the last 15 years. Basically, the keto diet is food that consists of high protein and high fats as well as low carbohydrates. The body works in a way that it forces itself to burn fats rather than carbohydrates therefore this diet would be perfect for someone who wants to lose weight and build a bit of muscle at the same time. Although the ketogenic diet is also used as medicinal purposes to treat hard-to-control epilepsy in children. The keto diet is considered a fad diet which is basically a diet that is considered popular and useful in its time, the diet becoming a trend. Keto is not safe for those with any conditions involving their pancreas, liver, thyroid, or gallbladder and this is the downfall with the ketogenic diet because of the high fat which could cause cholesterol and low carbohydrates which result in low energy levels and then the body reverting to protein to convert that into energy so therefore anybody who has underlying conditions should not try this diet at all as it could result in something a lot worse. The target market for this diet would definitely be someone who wants to lose weight and keep healthy in their life but it also targets children with hard-to-control epilepsy. The value of a keto diet is highly recommended because of the effectiveness of it and the keto diet is voted the most popular in the USA. The value of the trend is highly accepted by consumers because of its success rates and if a consumer sticks to the diet correctly then it will have a 95% chance of working.
Now I will be comparing the other style of dieting which is a little bit older and this diet is called the Atkins diet. The Atkins Diet is a popular low-carbohydrate eating plan developed in the 1960s by cardiologist Robert C. Atkins. This diet was more popular about 20 years ago and isn't as popular nowadays because newer diets have been proven to be more effective than this one. Atkins is similar to the keto diet except it only revolves around the low carbs area and doesn't worry too much about the protein and fat intake. Atkins also causes weight loss but isn't as healthy as the keto diet and this Atkins diet has a good chance of increased risk of heart disease but this isn't the only negative, Atkins has been proven that it isn't as effective as keto and can sometimes be non-effective. In this Atkins diet, you gradually increase the intake of carbohydrates into your body but in the keto diet, you don't ever bring higher carb densities back into your diet because the point is to leave your body in a ketosis state. The target market is basically for people who want to lose weight and increase their energy levels. Atkins isn't effective because it is said to be the same as an ordinary weight loss diet and once you stop the diet you will pick up all the weight again and this is why keto is different because no carbs get introduced therefore you remain the same weight. So people who are overweight might try this diet and people who just want to get skinnier while the ketosis diet is for sportsmen who can build muscle or even for people who just want to lose weight.
In conclusion, I think Keto has better results and if it was me I would definitely go for keto.
