Biography And Career Of Tara Strong – An American Voice Over Talent

They say everyone has a talent, for Tara Strong, her talent resides in her vocal cord. Not as a singer, but as a life-bringer to animated art. Tara Strong has lent her voice to bringing to life characters in various animations such as Rugrats, Drawn Together, The Fairly OddParents, Ben 10 and many others. She is the voice of Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls, Ben Tennyson in Ben 10, Raven in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!

Tara Lyn Strong (née Charendoff) was born on the 12th of February, 1973, to Syd and Lucy Charendoff. Her parents used to live in Russia until they were forced to immigrate to Canada, escaping the Anti-Jewish movement of the Russian Empire. In Canada, her parents settled in Toronto and raised Tara and her sister, Marla.

She developed an interest in acting at a young ageand consequently volunteered to be a soloist at a school production. Even though she was not familiar with the Yiddish language, it did not stop her from working with the Yiddish Theater, memorizing her lines phonetically. Not one to relent, she further performed with the Toronto Jewish Theater, where she played a role in A Night of Stars and got featured in an audiotape with the Habonim Youth Choir for ‘Lay Down Your Arms’, singing her lyrics in both English and Hebrew.

At age 13, Tara had her first professional role as Gracie, in the Limelight Theater’s production of The Music Man. She also had a guest role in the action series T and T. Further down the line, Tara Strong would come to be known for her work in cartoons and animations, her first major cartoon role was in Hello Kitty’s Furry Tale Theater, playing the title role. She made an appearance in a live action TV show, Mosquito Lake. Tara, looking to hone her craft, decided to take improv classes at The Second City in Toronto while she kept taking roles in both animated and live action movies and shows. Eventually, she moved to Los Angeles in January 1994. Tara Strong has won various awards for her work as the voice of multiple animated characters, including main roles in Fillmore! as the character - Ingrid Third, The Fairly OddParents as Timmy Turner and as Dil Pickles in Rugrats and in All Grown Up.
