Brief Bio
Davis was born in Kingsland, Georgia on the 16th day of November 1995 to John and Amy Davis. He is the only child of his parents and was raised in a very decent and disciplined household under the watchful eyes of his mother.
His father was in the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and wasn't there for a long time so, he had his mother bring him up. His mom worked as a computer coder in the medical industry but despite her long hours at work, Davis said she was always there for him, teaching him how to be respectful to people, handle certain tough and challenging situations in an orderly manner, and he is really grateful to her.
His love for the soccer began during his days at Camden County High School, Kingsland, Georgia. He played for the school team recording 114 tackles, he also for the Wildcats football team with a record of three forced fumbles.
After High School craved for a Georgia offer, after his high school teammates - Quarterback Brice Ramsey and running back J.J. Green both got Georgia offers, when that was not coming through, he committed himself to Auburn University. But in late 2012, the then Auburn's coach Gene Chizik was fired and the new coach that replaced him made it clear that they were lukewarm on recruiting Jarrad Davis.
Davis' high school coach Jeff Herron then called the then Florida coach Will Muschamp, asking him to re-open Davis’ recruitment, he did and Davis was offered a scholarship after he (Will Muschamp) was certain that one of his linebacker commitments would be a non-qualifier, thus, Davis changed his commitment to the University of Florida.
As a freshman, he played in all of the team's 12 season games recording one start, and 24 tackles, The following season (2014), he played in only nine games due to a knee injury, he ended his sophomore season with 23 tackles. And when Randy Shannon came in as the assistant head coach of the Florida Gators in 2015, he made Davis the team’s hard-hitting starting middle linebacker and that season he started 12 of 14 games, recording 98 tackles with 3.5 sacks, and one interception.
He was even more determined to set a far more endearing record the next season, unfortunately, his senior season was hampered by ankle sprain which left him on the bench. He scaled through the injury to make seven tackles in a game against Georgia, unfortunately, he couldn't sustain that in their next game against Arkansas, the injury resurfaced and kept him benched in the next three games.
