Causes, Impacts And Ways To Cope With Attention Issues

Attention issue is the people who have difficulty in choosing important information to pay attention, and can’t distinguish which information should he be focus. Both attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD) can be one of the causes of attention issues, as these children can be distracted easily by external information. The differences between ADHD and ADD is ADD to refer someone who has trouble in attention issues but not hyperactive, in the other hand ADHD is people who has both issues in attention and hyperactive. Attention issues can differentiate in three types, which is Movers type, Squirmers type, and Daydreamers types. Movers are the children who are active and can easily affect by external environment by taking all information instead focusing in one task, people often think that they are ADHD children. Squirmers are the children who sit on their seated but with constantly moving such as legs shaking or shifting chair. Lastly is daydreamers types, they are children who easily miss the direction of teacher and pretend to do the work, but actually they had already distracted by their thought.

Attention issues not only impact on performance in work, school and daily tasks, attention issues also influence how we function our thought and ways we perceive the world. Attention issue is not just a typical problem in our society, it causes people has difficulty in maintain attention, focus on task, and complete their mission. Attention issues is a continuous grow major health problem which misunderstood and treated incorrectly by most of the people. There are some complications for people who have attention issues such as impulsive, restlessness, distractibility, forgetfulness, and shifting attention. Impulsive is blur in giving out answer and speaking without thinking. Restlessness is distracted by movement such as legs shaking or shifting chair. Distractibility is inability to focus while reading or participate in a group. Forgetfulness is forgetful of the placed your things. And lastly shifting attention is gets stuck or over focus, which can effect with their ability to take notes or keep up with the conversation.

This attention disability stimulation has astonishing me after testing it, I can fell as this attention problem had happened to myself. It was hard to following the teacher’s instructions with sound interfere, even though I wanted to follow the class, but I couldn’t focus on what teacher was saying and that made the task become nearly impossible to complete. Therefore, I never succeed to see elephants. My attention issues had frustrated me for a long time since I was study in primary school. I blurry can focus and maintain my attention in the class during the lesson and my mind will drift from one thought to another, never focusing the topic in my hand. When my teacher talked about important point in examination, but my ear will automatically focus in different sound in the environment; such as student whisper, fan spinning, sound of wind blow, car driving sound, pencils writing sound, outside footstep sound, breathing sound, or anything make a sound. My most uncomfortable moment with attention issues is participate within a China student exchange plan. My team and I reached Shanghai Terminal from airport as we need to ride the train to Nanjing Art College. We reached Shanghai Terminal from airport, and their security level and number of people was surprised by me. Shanghai Terminal is as same as a factory assembly line, large amount of people will pass the customs post again and again with different security scan. In that moment, I become faint, stunned, and lost concentration as I receive too much of sound information and my brain can’t access massive information from the environment.

Although people with attention issues will have difficulties, but there are some strategies to cope with attention issues. First, get more information from internet, professional, or books about attention issues and realize which type of issues is the one you are facing with. Get fully understanding in your problem so you can take appropriate steps to accurately resolve the problem with sufficient knowledge in it. Second, find strategy which is specifies and optimize for your own situation. Some methods may be effective for people with attention issues but remember not all of them, and some methods may worsen the situation of your special issues. With proper testing or therapy you can find most suitable and effective option given by professional. Lastly is to support your attention with sufficient nutrition or brain-healthy supplements to improve attention.
