Classification Of Modern Art Forms

In today’s world, when one hears “art, ” the first thing they would think of is either drawing, painting, or music. That’s true – for the most part. Art is a very broad concept; there are various meanings to the word. People tend to generalize art into few categories, such as those stated earlier. Because an artist is someone who professionally creates art, an art is Art can range from painting to music, and even culinary practices involving food or drinks. Basically, the artist is someone who professionally creates things. But, what is art? What do people classify as “art?”

There are Physical art, like drawing and painting, serve as visual stimulators or expressions that are existent in physical reality. Drawing and sketching, for example, are techniques used to mark a canvas or surface material to resemble an image using various mediums. The easily misunderstood difference between drawing and sketching is that any mediums used for drawing, such as ink, pencil, charcoal, etc. , are incorporated into the final piece. Sketching, which medium is most commonly pencil, is used as a rough draft or outline of a painting or drawing. Painting is a technique where mediums such as oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, and many others serve to provide the piece with aesthetic qualities and color to demonstrate a deeper aspect of what the piece depicts. Many well-regarded painters have influenced the world and play a large role in history throughout the ages.

Architecture, referring to housing, is a method of designing a building or structure with unique or collaborative detail. It is mainly focused on housing or facilities and is used as a source of shelter.

Sculpture is basically making an idea or expression into three-dimensional structures with realistic features, depending on whether it is a part of a building or a singular model. To sculpt is to create an intricately carved entity from a material.

Music, another commonly known art, is not a physical object, but an auditory stimulant comprised of sounds emitted from collaborated instruments to produce an appealing sequence of tones and harmonies. Music can be anything, whether vocal, instrumental, or artificial--as long as it carries a rhythm. Different genres of music help to provide originality or variety of things to take interest in and express yourself. Classical is one of the oldest genres of music, hence the name “classical. ” It usually involves varieties of acoustic instruments, such as violin, cello, bass, trumpet, saxophone, oboe, trombone, the grand piano, and many others. Even today, classical music inspires many artists and their music throughout the world. Electronic, which includes EDM (electronic dance music), trap, dubstep, if you are still into that, techno, synthwave, and retro, is artificially synthesized beat signatures, samples and instrumental loops. Its influence peaked during the 90s era and is heavily prominent in today’s music industry. Almost all song instrumentals produced in the twenty first-century are electronically based and engineered. Hip-hop is a usually electronically based genre but can include instrumental loops and samples like electronic.

Culinary arts, referred to as cooking, is a widespread practice which appeals to the senses of sight, smell, and most importantly, taste. Cooking has been prominent throughout all of history, and embodies core traits of cultures around the world. Using different materials such as plants, roots, meats, minerals and many different elements, the human race has evolved from our primitive methods food consumption and enhanced the enjoyment of self-nourishment. The United States has benefited immensely from being such a boiling pot. The mass combination of cultures across the world allows the culinary profession to flourish.

Another rather underrated form of artistry is martial arts, which are various complex organizations of training for systematic defense techniques. Originally designed for martial (military) use, countries and cultures across the world have different forms of defense mechanisms. The person is the weapon.
