Avoiding Communication Breakdowns: Effective Strategies

Do you actually have any idea What definitely is the process of communication, which kind of is quite significant? What can be the reason for communication breakdown? What is the possible solution? This is a communication breakdown essay in which will be an attempt to answer these questions.

Communication is a process where we share our feelings ideas thoughts suggestions experiences etc. It is done at school works home and grocery store it can be done face to face or through technology with one or multiple people. In order for us to communicate with each other we have 7 stages that we need. Each stage has its purpose. 

The first one is source or a sender - it is the one who sends the information message. The second is encoding - it means translating information the third is the channel it is the medium or method through which a message is sent to its intended receiver. It can be verbal written and nonverbal followed by the decoding - it is the process of turning communication into thoughts. They also have a receiver - it is the person who gets the message and tries to understand what the sender wants to convey and then responds accordingly. They also have feedback - it is the response from the receiver which gives the communicator an idea of how the message is being received and last - the context, it refers to the circumstances of the situation in which communication is taking place. 

A communication breakdown is defined as a failure to exchange information resulting in a lack of communication. There are a few key communications that are the main causes of communication breakdowns: noise is the first and foremost, it means interference that occurs in a signal and prevents you from hearing sounds properly. Next is culture, when people from different cultures who might speak different languages have different cultural beliefs or use different gestures and symbols to communicate. Their cultural differences might become barriers to workplace success. Third is wrong assumptions - it is generally made because the sender or the receiver does not have adequate knowledge about the others background or entertains certain false concepts which are fixed in his/her mind. Information overload - when people are bogged down with too much information they are likely to make errors they may also delay processing or responding to information message at least for some time. Also the gender - women are process-oriented and prefer to gather information whereas men rely on a product-driven. Communication style follow by poor listening - it can result from a lack of involvement with the other person or the topic at hand. You just don't care enough to listen. 

To overcome communication break down we must talk slowly, and clearly we should learn to ask for clarification from your speaker or your listener. We always check for understanding, be mindful of using jargon, be a good listener and avoid interrupting if someone is talking, be patient because without patience it only gets worse.

In summary, the communication process is made up of seven stages components. Those components include source, encoding, channel, decoding, feedback, and context decoding, The communication process begins with the sender and ends with the receiver. The sender is an individual, group, or organization that initiates the communication. Communication can also break if we don't pay attention to it. Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity.
