Computer Programming: Investigation On How It All Started

One of the hardest and the most difficult parts about computer programming is trying to find out when it first started. We can usually start off with Charles Babbage. Babbage was a computer pioneer who designed the first ever Difference Engine and the Analytical engine. Babbage also was making these inventions but never got to finish any one of them but later for the future he left out blueprints that made other people create these ideas which he never really got to finish. Babbage later on was called the father of the computers because of his ridiculous ideas. Babbage's ideas which what we know now as computer programming was greater than anything and surpassed what had gone before.

What many people don't know is in computer programming is that almost all historians identify Ada Lovelace as the first computing machine programmer. Ada wrote the first ever algorithm for Babbage’s invention called The Analytical Engine. However, the computer was not finished, but she noted “Mr. Babbage believes he can, by his engine, form the product of two numbers, each containing twenty figures, in three minutes. ” Charles along with Ada was the smartest out of everyone they were 40 years ahead of time. Digital programming didn’t become a thing until the 1940s, through the 1950s computer programming languages were made and more was made throughout the time.

During the time a lot was invented for the computer but for computer programming it all started from this language called FORTRAN. FORTRAN was made in 1957, and it was developed by IBM and it has been used by the scientist and engineers. Later in the 1970s Niklaus Wirth created Pascal which was named after a French mathematician/physicist Blaise Pascal. After Pascal was made Dennis Ritchie made C this was from a previous language called B in 1972. When C was made in 1972 a person named Bjarne Stroustrup wanted to add a objective-oriented programming into the Cge language according to cplus. com/history, which led him to making C++ in 1983. Later throughout the years major programming languages were made like Python, Java, Perl, JavaScript, PHP, and Ruby.

Throughout the years these computer languages made tons of apps and programs such as games, browsers and much other. Without the computer languages we wouldn’t have programs such as games that run on the computer or programs. There have been many major breakthroughs for computers throughout the timeline. Intelligent people invent new stuff every day to naturally make it improve just like they typically do with the modern computers. These breakthroughs help us with everything we need for any IT jobs or for any computer related things and for that one of the major breakthroughs were personalized computers when they were invented it was a big thing because we had huge and giant computers back in the day and were really expensive.

The second major breakthrough in computers were CPUs, CPU is the central processing unit. CPU was and still one of the major breakthroughs of computers because it is the brain of the computer. It is called the brain because it basically controls the computer like for example if your brain shut down your body won't work or move with the computer it's the same thing. It’s basically the one that makes the computer turn on and do things, if it was never made then the computers would never turn on.

The third breakthrough is the motherboards. A motherboard is a part where it holds bunch of other components such as the CPU. The first ever motherboard was invented for the computer because it held the major parts of the pcs such as the CPU and the RAM. The motherboard had ports for things like keyboards and mouse. We can now usually find any computing parts so you can run the computer. Motherboards can provide us with a lot such as graphic processing, audi processing, and much more. If you’re a gamer and you’re looking to build a pc this is basically one of the major things you need in order to put all the parts in.

RAM is also a really important part in the computer world, it stands for Random Access Memory the first ever RAM was made in May 11, 1951. RAM is really important because the more RAM you have on your computer the faster everything runs and if you have a lot of it it helps the CPU run faster and more smoother. If you’re lacking on RAM, I suggest getting it because your CPU will have a difficult time trying to download or do anything on the computer. If you are a gamer you know that whenever you are trying to build a gaming computer you need good amount of RAM so your game can run. RAM Is mostly used whenever you launch any kind of games instead of a hard drive. RAM makes the game faster to launch and it improves the gaming experience.

Now we can't forget about the one necessary thing that every computer needs, a monitor. The first ever monitor was invented in 1897 by a german scientist named Karl Ferdinand Braun who invented the first ever cathode ray tube. Throughout the years monitors were improved tremendously. We started from the world's smallest screen cathode ray tube to flat monitors late in the early 2000s. The quality and the pixels has improved for the monitors as well because now we have flat screen TVs and of the monitors are everywhere including our phones, tablets and much more! After when I graduate from high school I want to become a computer programmer. If you also want to become a computer programmer like me the requirements to become one is very simple but when you start doing this course it will be very hard because of all the languages you need to learn. Becoming a computer programmer is difficult but you just have to get used to it. It’s basically like learning a new language. It’s always difficult in the beginning but it gets more easier each time you get it wrong because you learn from your mistakes. In programming, even if you get one thing wrong, keep trying. Never give up because almost every time you fail you can try again until you get it right. To become a computer programmer you need a bachelor's degree. For the first two years you need to finish fields such as English, science, and Social Studies. For the last two years it should be dedicated to the computer programming courses. Most of the time they will just ask you for your Associate’s degree and a certification.

What I like about computer programming is it helps you develop better creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Having good creativity skills is really necessary because you need them when you’re coding. If you have good creativity skills then you’re spot on because you can make almost anything when your coding. Computer programming can improve your problem solving skills which is a good thing because it helps you proceed efficiently. You know you’re not gonna give up because when you’re coding you should never give up. It’s one of the only things you shouldn’t do. Always keep trying even if you don’t get it.
