The Documentary Film “Poverty Inc” - Present State Of Economic Globalization
Millions and millions of people that is living across the world is under the state of squalidness in terms of sickness, hunger and desperation. This pandemic poverty causes the most highly and deadly punishment in the world. However, this horror of poverty seemed to be normal for the privileged minority and considered as an inevitable part of geopolitical landscape. Leaders in different parts of the world declared their commitment to poverty eradication and yet none of them have the guts to point out what causes poverty.
Having these statements above is only a proof that poverty is a torture to human’s life which I believe that can cure with great love and faith in humanity as a relation to the film that I watched I our class. The film has different perspective of different persons in different nations. Some of what they’re talking about matches other people and some contradict to it. Over all, the film itself has something to point with the treatment to poverty, the agendas of leaders and NGOs on how to help people which have a reversal effect. On the other hand, having those different perspectives of different people, the film didn’t change the way I think and my over-all idea about poverty however, it leaves me a certain impact, an impact that seemed to be saying something that we humans should think outside the box, to think not just twice but multiple times. In my own understanding, it is not the poverty that mainly tortures the people but our over-flowing charity. Helping isn’t bad unless it really helps the people but no, the aid that is given by lots of different NGO aren’t helpful anymore, those aids are suppose for the benefit of the people but it makes people more lazier because according to them those aids preventing them to create and do jobs they are helping out by keeping on giving free stuffs like they don’t want people to stand up for themselves. This is also an impact of neoliberalism where rich grows richer and the poor becomes poorer.
Economic globalization refers to the movement of people, technology, capital, goods, and services internationally. A process of economic and social transformation within countries showing how integrated countries are in the global economy and the interdependence of different countries across the world. In the present time, technologies and goods has much mobility than people and capital compared in the eighteen hundreds where it is opposite of it. This topic isn’t just bloomed or falls down from heaven; it has something to do with poverty in relation to the film that I watch in the class. The present state of economic globalization is the ideal view of our world where technology and capital are flowing freely and all of people have access on it and market works efficiently. However, these statements seemed to be untrue as it is not visible to the film itself and opposite of what it states mainly the efficiency of the market in some countries.
