Criticism About Extra Judicial Killing
Do you know what killing means? According to the Dictionary, killing is defined as “an act of a person causing death”. So, killing is an act of executing one’s person. How about the EJK or extra judicial killings? What does it mean? According to the Web’s Definitions, “extra judicial killing is an act of killing of a person by governmental authority without an order of the court or legal process. ” So, it means it is illegal. Why EJK is bad? It is bad because it is unlawful process and it is against to the ten commandments of God which is “thou shall not kill”. Likewise, it is bad because it does not give people a chance to change, and of course it does not give people a chance to express themselves. There are causes why there is extra judicial killing. First, the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared war against drugs. Therefore, it causes of the assassinations of the people and unlawful killings.
However, the President wants to have a good and peaceful state that is why he declared war against a drug and for him it is good. Second, “police fail to investigate properly”. Consequently, they end up of killing of innocent people in drug use and that is why execution happens. Third, “the police defending themselves against drug syndicate”. Hence, they are afraid to involve on drugs and have fear of their own lives. However, the police have their own reasons why they are doing that matter, like they have fear to suspend because they also think for the good of their family. Another is to get in jail and of course to blame. Lastly, the “errors of the police in identifying the members of drug syndicate”. Like for examples, the killings of the 17 year-old teenager Kian Delos Santos. As a result of the erroneous identity. Nevertheless, they are also a person which can commit mistakes. Now, if there are causes of extrajudicial killings, there should have the effects. First, “dug syndicates are fighting and killing many people in between” because of the illegal and unlawful killings to the people. However, there are fighting because they want to get justice for their relatives who are brutally murdered. Second, “some police use this as a reason to justify their killings”.
As a result, it is their fulfillment not to consume time to find the real persons involved in drug use. Also, for them not to waste time and to get easily the rewards. So the reason is they kill anyone which is innocent. However, the police use this to justify the killings for them to avoid the long term of investigation to the crime. Lastly, “innocent people are shot dead”. Therefore, they do not have the will to defend themselves. However, this will only defend when there are investigations, to know the reasons, and to have justices. In conclusion, I believe that extra judicial killings is not only the solutions to have a good and peace state specifically in the Philippines. I want to succeed our President Duterte in his fight against the illegal drugs. But, extra judicial killings should not be the solutions to resolve the use of illegal drugs and the drug problems in the country. Our president has his way of reducing the illegal drugs in the Philippines and that is the extra-judicial killing. However, I am open to suggest things which can help and resolve the problems in using illegal drugs.
First, it will start from the heart of our President Rodrigo Duterte from his conversion it will stop the extra judicial killings. Second, it will help the support and love of the family by helping their relatives to undergo treatment and give a second chance for those people who are involved in illegal drugs. Lastly, the strong foundation to stop the extra judicial killings is to pray for our president, for the government, for the families and for those people who surrounds us especially those who have problems cause of the use of drugs.
