Don’t Let Anyone Stop You In Your Dreams
Who should name their desires? It could be anyone who wants to picture their “to be selves” or “to find their personal legends. ” They just need to unleash their imagination and have a vast mind, which requires no age, social standing, gender nor experience. It could be a child. Like in an anime titled, “Shugo Chara, ” it challenges children to remain true to their dreams and have a positive outlook in life so the tamagos or eggs hidden inside their hearts will remain intact. A tamago or an egg represents a child’s to-be self or an older version of his self when he has achieved his dream or he has discovered a skill like cooking, sewing etc. Nonetheless, hurtful words can easily wound a child’s fragile heart. A child could start to doubt himself and as a result, the tamago begins to leave his body.
When it happens, the main girl protagonist goes around and talks to the affected children enlightening them. She also fights against evil who tries to take or break a child’s dream but in the real world, there will be no hero to do that. You have to fight against evil, people who would put you down. Doubt you or ridicule you. People who would not believe you could be your to-be self.
Same with a book titled “The Alchemist”, which tells the story of a boy who dreams to travel around the world then becomes a shepherd. He has achieved his one dream but then an encounter incredibly changes his life forever. When the shepherd encounters a stranger telling him that his treasure waits for him somewhere in Egypt, he believes him and ventures forward with a new goal in mind. He travels to Egypt meeting both good and bad people along the way. He has come across several challenges but he never gives up. In the end, he has found the promise treasure and goes back to his shepherd life.
Anyone has one or more definite ‘wants’ in his or her life. Children, who may want attention, Parents, who might actually need to free their time for their children, grade school students, who may want to satisfy their thirst of learning, of what else life could offer, teenagers, who might like to explore more and might need true friendship and loyalty, high school students, who maybe want to achieve something else besides academic attainments, college students, who might be wishing to take another course and want another career to pursue. Employees, who may need the time to relax or might want to change careers, And the naming of desires are for, those who think there’s still something missing in their life. Those who need a goal. Those who have forgotten dreams. Those who have heard painful words. Those who have suffered from countless rejections. Those who have been crying, silently chanting the “what-ifs” in their life. Those who have failed. Those who are afraid to hear: “You can never get what you want”. Who says? Your parents? Your sister? Your friends? Your boss? Your nosy neighbors? Who are they to stop you? Only you can stop you. As a song written for dreamers says, I will run, I will climb, I will soar. I’m undefeated, Jumping out of my skin, pull the chord. Yeah, I believe it, The past, is everything we were. Don’t make us who we are. So I’ll dream, until I make it real.
Keep this in mind and you will definitely get there. Find your personal legends and never let go of your to-be selves.
