Economics – A Discipline I Seek To Continue Pursuing
For a long time now, I have had an interest in economics that has shaped how I view the world. My curiosity with economics and an eagerness to learn about the world encouraged me to study about economics, a discipline that I seek to continue pursuing. The reading plus a host of informal learning has prepared me for a course in Business and management which will improve my understanding of economics. In your Summer school, I hope to continue my quest amidst fellow students and faculty from the many cultures, who will help to deepen my understanding of the production and distribution of products and services and its relation to the people served.
Among the most exciting ideas, I have discovered in my studies is how theories and arguments developed in the book are applied and adapted in the real world. From economics, I can relate the business to its management and the importance of such management in delivering the goals of the organization. However, I believe that on such issues, the expert advice and views guided by the faculty at your institution will inspire me to improve my practical managing skills as I continue to develop those I am learning about.
Through my previous education as well as job experience, I have developed the proper discipline and time management skills that are a critical part of taking a course within your school. I understand the importance of timely delivery of well thought out work that reflects the standard of the Harrow School. I understand the ethical standards that the school ascribes to are crucial to the practice of business. If given the opportunity to be in your institution, it is these standards that I seek to continue culturing myself into, to prepare me for my practice, as well as in my personal life.
The global economy has been changing constantly, the product of a host of situations that continue to affect the global production and movement of goods and the culture of the population around the world. In Hong Kong, a major business center in the world, I believe that I have a better chance to interact with the effects of this globalization which will further build my skills as a manager.
I have worked in the investments department of a large listed firm where I gained tons of experience about the global market and the process of running funds for businesses and investing such wisely. Beyond the personal skills coming with the job, I improved my analytical skills and improved my aptitude in business. While interacting with fellow students and faculty, I hope to offer this perspective as part of my contribution to improving and building the discourse. At the same time, I believe that being in your institution will bring a new perspective to my experience and aid me in developing a suitable style for my management roles.
As an individual, I am naturally inquisitive and open-minded which has allowed me to develop an interest in other co-curricular activities mostly in sports and music. I believe that Harrow School is the right place for me to meet people with similar interests and develop my network both for my personal and professional life. Beyond this, I am independent, and with very minimal supervision, I can work well under pressure. I am also willing to take on the challenge that comes with enrolling in your school. I believe I will make a great addition to your institution and hope to hear from you soon.
