Experimental Psychology: Article Review
The major research behind this article called “Experimental Psychology” is an overview of how experimental psychology is being affected a lot by the many tests and submissions being performed. All the information being researched on has made a significant change on the transparency of psychology to those who study it. The insight being used by the researchers was used from the journals of other researchers from the same scientific field. The type of method used by the researchers was naturalistic observation that was seen by the people within the psychology scientific community. The growing scientific community was taking steps towards making communication between one scientist to another more transparent to work together and come to a new understanding. Having a designated team who studied new ways to implement all types of psychological researchers studied together as clear and transparent as possible. The subjects used were other researchers trying to get their studies across to another crowd of researchers. The only process being used is the one already in place of other scientists. The process was difficult for researchers to fully understand studies done by other people, and the information was not always as easily available, but now there are databases to find millions of different discoveries on various topics to study and add to.
I learned that human psychology can grow more and more if we find new more efficient ways to get information across as clear as possible, and have scientists cross over to other areas Sanchez2 to give their own insight to other scholars. This availability of information on science has progressed our knowledge on psychology largely since theories, and hypothesis can be seen by other eyes trying to find the same answer. The result of this study will remind people that information is so open to the public, anyone can find research on something they want to learn about, and if they do more studying on the subject then they can add their own discoveries and points of view. If we have progressed as much as we have done in the past decades with the limited resources that were available at the time, I feel like from now to our near future our discoveries and knowledge on common topics of psychology will expand further than we imagined. Making research publicly available can lead to more knowledge spreading throughout people reading and can interest people looking to find more on that topic.
The impression I received from the article is that they are stating how studies are more transparent and clear to other researchers, but if they wanted it clearer then the level of vocabulary being used should be picked up by anyone with a college vocabulary.
The article is very dense in vocabulary and takes several readings to understand what is happening. For anyone new to the topic it will be hard to understand and pick up on to an extent to where you would want to research more into it. Most people will see the intended audience as one with a higher level of education and will be lured away from the subject to prevent confusion and misunderstanding. The limitations that i observed is the audience that would want to pick it up, this article would be limited to a group of people with a wider and more broad vocabulary, than the regular person who would be doing research. This limitation can be removed by working the article in a more modern and approachable tone and not as a sophisticated word bank that would not be understood by someone trying to find more information on the topic.
