Facilitating Team And Group Dynamics Of Introverts
Needless to say, there are majority of extroverts rather than the introverts. However, there is always a burden on introverts to be like extroverts, whereas they have a lot of special qualities which extroverts do not have, even if they want to, because they used to live in that atmosphere. Introverts are quiet, does not like to communicate openly specially to the unknowns. They enjoy time with themselves or with their loved ones. Mostly they are the people who comes up with creativeness and innovations, create something unique and outstanding.
Practical Tools
As a leader, I would be using these tools for introverts listed in forthcoming paragraph.
Robotics
There is an invention of telepresence robots. Modern jobs phase are being evolved by Robotics. With this tool, humans and robots can interact in an excellent way as compared to interacting introverts with extroverts as there are no feelings, expressions and behaviour is included between the robot and human conversation. Subsequently, no chances for conflicts or arguments.
Texting apps
Leader can utilise the different apps such as messenger or Skype in order to have a connection to the team member. Specially, Gmail is crucial for sending and receiving the docs, announcements. Furthermore, making groups on Google drive and social sites like twitter can give us the good results. • Phone calls: Leader can make calls to the team members letting knowing them about any information, when team member does not understand about the work assigned and in case of emergencies like surprised meetings.
Space Design
The office should be designed according to the employees. So, for introverts, the office should be located at a far distance from the hustle and bustle areas as they love silence, and cannot concentrate in a noisy area. The office should have a silver privacy in their design. It should not be decorated with the colorful collages and different flowers however keeping some fresh flowers provide us a feeling of freshness and coolness. The window panes should be air-tight so that no entry of any sound to disturb. Custom-designed coaches with high walls and wheels are brilliantly placed throughout the office so that one can relax for some time when tired. Moreover, dimmer lighting can be used in order to create a peaceful atmosphere.
Other ways to make Introverts contribute to the team:
- Solitude: Make a separate group of introverts if there are a lot of extroverts.
- Written conversations: Let them respond in writing. Avoid face to face conversations as much as possible.
- Prior Work: Inform them the work that they have to do before coming to the office so that they have time to think over the topic and make some ideas. Do not ask them questions on the spot. They are afraid of doing so.
- Responsibility and Motivation: In the last, Responsibility and Motivation can lead to get best out of them. They can be made responsible by assigning work within the set time period. They should be motivated from time to time and keep on reminding them how valuable they are.
