Grey Wolves – Highly Intelligent Animals

Wolves have been feared and labeled as treacherous creatures, but no one has taken the time to realise how incredibly outstanding these species are. The wolf has been studied to be highly intelligent from their talented actions, such as strong emotions, communication and astonishing interactions. These large mammals are mistaken as incapable of many tasks but wolves are much more than simple-minded animals. This type of animal are highly skilled hunters, they have complex minds and incredible senses.

Conversing amongst the wolf pack is important because well-bonded relationships result in a successful hierarchy. For example, a leader wolf would stand tall, perk its ears high and growl to assert its dominance over the wolves or a potential predator. Signs and signals have many uses that benefit the wolfpacks safety. Such as alerting each other of dangerous situations. The usage of communication in the hierarchy is beneficial and very helpful towards the wolfpack. Communication develops strong relationships, protects each other and used to keep the pack under control and organized. At the same time, wolves are one of the few animals that use signals and signs as a way to speak with each other. Signals amongst the wolfpack is significant, as it is proved to be an effective way to communicate.

Wolves hunt in an specific format, where each wolf have to cooperate as a team using their skills. When hunting, the dominant wolf leads them as they search for food. All of the wolves use their senses to locate a nearby prey, like a herd of deer that can feed the entire wolfpack. They can sense possible food by listening for stomping hooves or vibration and sniffing out the area. After a prey is located, the wolves attack using its different sized teeth to easily take the prey down. Its small teeth are used to pull at the skin and its big teeth are used to weaken the muscle. The food is then shared upon all of the wolfpack. Amazing teamwork and stunning senses and practical techniques used during hunting demonstrate how wolves can use their brilliant methods to establish a successful hunt.

Did you know wolves have highly complex mindsets? Wolves demonstrate heavily-built relationships with family that they’ll sacrifice themselves if it meant saving the other. They can sense distress and recognize other emotions. For instance, if another wolf was feeling low or hurt, other wolves would offer affection and sympathy to comfort. In fact, this mammal is excellent at learning and recognizing because of how their brains are developed. Even though it may not seem like it, but wolves contain a flexible mind which makes it easier for them to learn and show emotion. Wolves display a wide range of emotion and learning skills in their everyday life.

Many people claim the Grey Wolf can not problem solve on their own, however it is proved that many wolves have elaborate thought process and senses. Wolves decide if a situation is too risky to proceed with, during this thought, the wolf must think if they should abandon the situation or continue. To illustrate, if a wolf were hunting and overpowered predators were invading the area, then would the wolf decide to escape or continue. On the other hand, Grey Wolves have fascinating abilities to sense things.They have high quality senses like hearing, smelling and vision which helps them locate prey. This validates that wolves are skilled enough to use problem solving and their senses to their advantage in daily life. As a wolf, this indicates they are fully capable of problem solving and using their senses to assist them with problem solving.

Wolves have been portrayed as simple-minded, scary creatures, yet are instead highly complex and intelligent species. The wolf species have been falsely underrated for their intelligence, but that has been proved to be wrong. From communication, hunting and teamwork to problem solving, affection and emotions, these animals are anything but simple. To sum up, wolves can be shown to be knowledgeable because of their canny and swift actions or their large and vivid ways of thinking.
