Many people love to travel around the world and visit different places. People mainly travel the world to see what is out there and to see what they can’t see on their televisions. One of the most popular tourist attractions in the world is Paris, France. Paris is a beautiful city with many different places to explore. Many people go to Paris to visit places such as the Eiffel Tower and The Notre Dame cathedral. Paris, France is a very important city in the world and is mainly known for their part in the International Fashion Industry.

Paris has been around for more than 2,000 years. Paris was named the “City of Light” because of its gleaming beauty and the many different sites to see. The city of Paris lies 107 miles southeast of the English channel (Berenson). There has been many different events that have led to Paris becoming one of the most visited areas in the world. The Great Century of Paris was one of the most important events in Paris France history. In the seventeenth century under the reign of Louis XIV known as the Sun of King, the city of Paris flourished with the construction of new buildings, squares, theaters and the palace of Versailles. After the seventeenth century Paris became one of the most popular cities in the world and one of the most visited cities in the world, receiving over 80 million tourists a year.

The population of Paris has grown a huge amount as well. As of 2015, Paris had a population of almost 10 million people (Chittom). That is how Paris became one of the most popular venues in the world and to this day it is still a very popular place. The Paris metropolitan area covers 41 square miles and rises to an altitude of 423 feet (Chittom). Paris is not known for how big the city is but however how big the structures and the popularity of the structures are. Paris is known for having a lot of factories of the suburbs of the city which produce a lot of products. Most of the products that come from or around Paris are the expensive jewelry and the perfume and the high end custom womens clothing (Berenson).

A wall surrounds Paris and this wall is how people know how far out Paris has expanded throughout the years. The river that surrounds Paris is the Seine River and Paris has spread out farther than that river it actually covers both sides of the Seine River banks (Berenson). There are many different ways to determine where Paris ends and where the next city starts but the two main things are the wall and the river. The city of Paris has expanded a lot throughout the years and it still to this day continues to grow and if more people continue to move there the city and the population will continue to grow and rise.

The population of Paris has reached 2,180,000 people which makes it one of the most crowded cities in the world (Berenson). Most of the people that live in Paris are either immigrants and other foreign residents and they are known as the place with the largest amount of foreign people in the world (Chittom). Paris has many people that live there but they are mainly known for the amount of tourists that come each and every year. Paris has almost 80 million tourist per year (Chittom). If anyone ever wanted to go visit Paris they wouldn’t really have to worry about a certain time of the year to go because there are always going to be a lot of people there not only because of all the tourists but also because the population is so big.

Paris is a very beautiful place to visit and that is why the number of tourists has skyrocketed throughout the years. There are two major structures that tourists say that want to come and visit. These two structures are known as the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel to celebrate the French Revolution (Chittom). The Eiffel tower has become one of the best sites to visit in the world. Many people say the best time to visit the Eiffel Tower is at night time because of how beautiful the structure has become. The Eiffel tower is one of Paris’s most famous attractions and it brings in most of the tourists that visit this city. The Tower stands over Paris at a huge 324 meters high, that means this tower stands at 1,063 feet tall (Chittom).

The Eiffel tower is not the only thing a tourist can visit there is also many beautiful museums in Paris. The Louvre is one of the largest museums in the world, with over 60,000 square meters of exhibition space (Chittom). The most famous church in Paris is known as the Notre Dame cathedral. The Notre Dame cathedral sits in the oldest part of Paris and some might say the most beautiful part of Paris (Chittom). There have been many different treaties that have been signed in or near Paris. One of the most famous treaties that was signed in Paris was the Treaty of 1973 also known as the Paris Peace Accords. This treaty ended the U.S. military's involvement in the Vietnam War and helped the United States retreat back to the home states in America (Hodges).

There have been many different treaties that were signed in Paris and most of them helped end wars or helped other countries out in some way. The treaty that was signed in 1783 helped end the American Revolution. This treaty helped the United States gain independence and go back to their home states as a free country for the first time in a very long time (Hodges). Paris has helped many countries in many different ways but they didn’t even do anything. It was just the city where all of the treaties were signed but those treaties helped out in a huge way.

Paris may have a lot of beautiful things and be a great place to visit but just like every other beautiful and great city there are a lot of bad times. In 2015, Paris was the target of a series of terrorist attacks. The first attack took place over three days and killed 17 people in January of 2015 (Bumgardner). Then in the same year one of the worst attacks in the world since World War II took place in and around Paris. In November of 2015, a series of terrorist attacks took place and nearly 129 people were killed, that was one of the worst events in Paris history (Bumgardner).

These were some of the worst attacks that people in Paris have ever heard of and many of the families are still mourning to this day because someone else had a bad day and decided to kill all these innocent people. Paris would be a great place to visit because of the great history and the great structures that stand in the city of Paris, France. Paris is a very pretty place and the Eiffel Tower is very beautiful at night and night time would most certainly be the best time to visit that site. There is many different places to travel in the world for many different reasons. There are some places that are mainly about history and there are some places that are famous because of their beauty.
