The Success Of MAC Company In The Beauty Industry

On the different historical levels in one form or another people always admired beauty. Beauty implies different meanings and representations, therefore, in order to clarify, everything which is going to follow will be referred to beauty industry. And since it’s called “industry”, it means that this sphere of life just like most of others, was materialized and programmed to generate income. Therefore, producing interested parties, or companies to create and possess the business. But business is a risk involving activity, which means that not all who strive to achieve that magical word “success”, will actually do so. Surprisingly for some, the whole beauty market is owned only by few enormous companies.

For example, it is Loreal parent company which owns such brands as Lancôme, Maybelline, Urban Decay and NYX, or Estee Lauder with Clinique, MAC and Aveda. From my point of view, that’s a clear success – billions of dollars of income, loudly speaking and known name, huge target audience. However it is hard to differentiate within such a great amount of brands, still, they all have own peculiarities. Consequently, one brand which from my opinion stands out is M. A. C Cosmetics. Even though, company didn’t have to come through a hard path to reach success, it is still one of the well known brands. From my point of view, even the beginning of the history of this particular company is interesting and is pretty self-explanatory. MAC or M. A. C cosmetics was settled up by make-up artist and photographer Frank Toskano and an owner of a beauty salon Frank Angelo with a view to create a professional makeup line for studios. Everything started in a single counter of a department store in Toronto and has evolved to in being sold today in over 120 countries around the world with 50 collections each year, all of which continue to serve the demand both of consumers and professional makeup artists.

The reason for such a continuation might be stated mission of he company. MAC positions itself as a trendsetter, which collaborates with prominent figures of the modern culture and a proud community of professional makeup artists who work together to bring company’s vision to life. By the way, vision may be represented in the motto of MAC cosmetics, which promotes individuality and diversity “All Ages, All Races, All Genders”. Another great part of company’s activity is that MAC believes in social responsibility and is involved into charity, possessing own Aids Fund to support men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS and initiating special product lines such as Viva Glam, donating 100% of the sale price to fight HIV/AIDS. To draw the conclusion, the company took the industry by storm, offering a wide range of products, satisfying the needы of growing clientele, expanding from local to international level and sharing success by paying attention to serious global problems.
