Humanities And Its Significance In Life

Humanities are all those disciplines or activities related to these that focus on the phenomena of the human being. From this perspective it is understood that despite the aspiration to rigor that they have, they will always lack a rigor like that held by the exact sciences. However, this circumstance should not be a reason for discrediting the humanities, which have various studies of the various facets of human experience that are of great importance. So, for example, you can name sociology, anthropology, psychology, linguistics, etc. All these orientations of knowledge have in common to be an essential part of the human experience, despite the diversity of criteria that may exist in them. The humanities study the social reality in which we live, the past that has conditioned and made possible, the differences that cross it, in short, this whole study is something that undoubtedly needs to be done. Humanities are a group of disciplines trying to understand the development of societies based on dignity and respect for the person, individually and collectively. They start from the premise that what is done by women and men have the courage to be considered as fundamental for the understanding of life itself.

The term Humanities refers to the set of disciplines that analyze and study human behavior. They are also known as Social Sciences and are the opposite of Natural Sciences. The Social Sciences, or Humanities, focus on the study of all phenomena related to life in society. In this sense, the different social disciplines study about culture, history, religion, communication, among others. Humanities is structured in three lines of information: 1) Artistic creation (cinema, literature, music and visual arts 2) Research 3) Project development. Humanities focuses on Philosophy, anthropology, communication, education, art, Labor universe in art galleries, museums, houses of culture, department of culture, consultancies, universities and research institutes, in the promotion of culture and the arts, editorial work and literary publications, governmental and civil society organizations, media of communication, press offices, etc. The humanities had at first a close link that we can now say are exact sciences. Indeed, in the dawn of humanity, the ancients lacked these distinctions and used to group all the elements of knowledge. This is how philosophy began to be developed, as a “love of wisdom”, regardless of the area or branch that it was. With the passage of time, however, distinctions were established in regards to knowledge reaches the various sciences that we know today.

The distinction between exact sciences and humanities was largely linked to underlying events in society, which gradually began to be technician and required knowledge to a large extent disengaged from its own criteria when it comes to advancing certain aspirations with regards to economic production. The humanities have, in spite of the exposed, a little important role in the current societies. In particular, some of them have seen a clear setback in terms of their pre-eminence of the past. This circumstance has led to their retraction to a large extent in the academic field, leaving the market aside. Of course, this assertion lacks absolute character and it is always possible to find honorable exceptions. Maybe you can name among them some orientations of sociology that by their proximity to the economy, have a role of relevance in the market. Indeed, we must not forget that the economy, despite the systematization of some criteria and the mathematics training that it has, is a social science and this means that many of the aspects it takes into account are difficult to measure. Art and humanities go hand in hand. From our whole life experiences, we see that art is illustrated, influenced, and intertwined with the humanities. The arts and humanities are compulsory practices that exist in the shared space of this world. Humanities as an intellectual and physical quest are significant elements that make us human. Visuals and arts clearly reflect these elements. The historian who forms a turn of phrase that perfectly relates our relationship to our past is an artist.

The actor who sits in a bar after a show and separates the audience’s response to the act is a humanist. There is a global tendency to think about development only in terms of what is patentable, measurable and quantifiable; where it is thought that a country with a higher per capita income is automatically a better society. But that, for example, obviates many things, such as social inequalities. I can have a higher per capita income if I have the two hundred richest citizens on the planet, but still have incredible social inequality. Then there are many things that numbers do not allow to reveal. The human and social sciences have an object of study that is the human being and his social relations that we cannot stop studying. Careers like philosophy are not just a discipline where an object is studied; they are races where, in the same race, the person changes. These are careers that aim to provide the world with better citizens. These disciplines are very critical, even with the same area of study. Philosophy is constantly questioned; the philosophy of science questions the scope of scientific findings, not distorting them but showing that, to a large extent, they are also subject to a series of contingencies and problems. What it does is create people who do not swallow whole, who argue well what they are doing, who look at the other aspects of the problem, who do not focus on just one. So, it is not just a discipline that studies an object and produces some articles; rather it is a way to train people who are useful in a society.

In the same way, human beings are not only physical bodies on this planet, we have and share a social reality that must be studied, understood, modified, and interpreted. This reality, much more qualitative and more difficult to accommodate in numerical terms, is as real as any physical reality. The humanities study this social reality in which we live, the past that has conditioned and made possible, the differences that cross it, in short, this whole study is something that undoubtedly needs to be done.
