Immigration, Elderly And Overpopulation
Americans celebrate where there ethnic or cultural background as a “nation of immigrants,” there is mixed feelings about immigration. Hirschman (2006) There is a strong belief for the continued economic growth. Immigration has been a core of events of America. A dark part of American’s in the past are continuing to blame another heritage groups for low wages or taking jobs. Until we accept people of all nationalities we will fail in becoming a great nation. During that era people didn’t really know what “illegal” or “legally meant because there weren’t any laws in this country that lead to the movement or settlement of people.
(2012) Before the 1700’s land that was occupied by Native Americans, which they considered as their land. As a result, the Native Americans were wrong and had to be thrown off what they considered their land and had to move to lands of the Mississippi River. When the Europeans arrived, they had African slaves and “settled” on the lands which belonged to someone else. Ehlich (2012) The image of Manifest Destiny was used to uphold the westward expansion. To make it righteous, they used it with the war of Mexico. Some didn’t agree that American Imperialism has been a very strong force in debating the foreign invasion of countries. From the point of transition, they were losing the baby boomers from our work force and current policies make it very difficult for businesses to hire skilled workers that are needed to be complete. There is no way anyone can judge what immigration is going to be.
As everyone knows President Trump is trying to get a wall made from Mexico to U.S., now the issue is who is going to pay for it? It is supposedly to keep foreign people from entering the U.S. illegally, this is what they call immigrants. They are trying to control the immigrants, but it’s not an easy task.
What is considered impacts on our great nation, because of over populating. It already has hit the factories, a huge company “Caterpillar”, which at one time a very good place to work, but now they are moving their business out of state because they don’t have to pay huge wages or give insurance to the people.
With the aging population that continues to grow, will it be changed forever? Are we ready for the change? What are the implications of the aging population on health care. Have you ever heard of the baby boomers? Is there anything we can do to prevent this event? No, there isn’t anything that can be done. We just must deal with this the best possible way, is projected that more than 60% of this generation will be managing more than one chronic condition. Managing these chronic conditions along with patient’s level of disability, will increase the financial demands on healthcare. Some believe there will increase the financial demands on our health care system.
There are certain health conditions that are expected to be a challenge to our health care system with the increasing aging population. These would also include cancer, dementia, increase in the number of falls, obesity and diabetics. Falls are being one of the most common causes of injury in the older population, this a challenge to our health care system. This is also attributed to the fact that Baby Boomers are living longer, remaining active, and possibly on medications that could cause the falls.
The first impact was demographic. This is primarily resulted in the socializing and education. Another is the historical settlement of African Americans. Each new wave makes hostility and fears they might harm American people. Immigration, like race, religion and continuing source of tension in many societies. In conclusion there had to be a Manifest Destiny for American. I am thankful for being an American. Where are they going to draw the line? Who can or cannot cross into U.S. territory. As we know if a foreigner wants to hurt Americans they will figure out a plan and eventually do.
