Ruby Bridges helped both colored communities come together into one. Ruby bridges were the first African American student in a white school many people didn't like this at first. They had riots and protests to stop this from happening but ruby made a perfect start. People started accepting the idea of having African Americans in their schooling. ¨On Bridges’ second day, Barbara Henry, a young teacher from Boston, began to teach her. The two worked together in -an otherwise vacant classroom for an entire year.¨ People were so disgusted about having an African American child in their school system that they took their children out for the rest of the year. But they slowly accepted that children need to be in school and started to accept African Americans for who they are inside not just outside. Ruby helped the color gap come closer and help people see each other for who they are inside, not just their color. She also helped the nation by letting African Americans into white schools to help strengthen the environment and nation into a better society.
