Discovering the Moral Lesson in "Noli Me Tangere"

During the Precolonial Era up to the Spanish Colonization Period,Filipinos lacked the sense of national consciousness as the idea of nationalism was unknown to them as these types of ideals originated inforeign countries. The idea of having a national consciousness could be attributed to different factors and events during the Colonization Era. The book, Noli Me Tangere, is a fictional-historical novel. To discuss the moral lesson in Noli Me Tangere, this essay will first shortly review the book.

It was written by our national hero, Rizal, who was an inspiration for all youths and was the catalyst to start the impending power of the Filipinos to want freedom and independence. The book, Noli Me Tangere, was written by dr. Jose Rizal. It shows how the Spaniards slowly took our rights and our stand as Filipinos, but turned our fellow-men to their side as well. Some of our Filipino leaders were eaten by the glory, money and power which blinded them.

Noli Me Tangere depicted nationality by emphasizing the positive qualities of Filipinos, the devotion of a Filipina and her influence. The book made us realize that the past and the present had some kind of similarities. Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere used to be all about the description of the Spanish colonization here in the Philippines and how the Spanish dealt with Filipinos badly. It accompanied the story of Crisostomo Ibarra who came from Europe to study. He reunited with his nemesis, Padre Damaso, at Kapitan Tiago's residence in the U.S. Every personality in Noli Me Tangere has a function that depicts exclusive roles in Philippine society to battle for the freedom of the country. All Filipinos had been called Indios in the course of the time of the Spaniards. There are characters that have symbolic which means like Sisa used to be a mother of Crispin and Basilio who took care of her youth and grew to become an outcast due to the fact of ill-treatment to the Filipino people. The conflicts that were dominant in the novel exist until today's technology that it affects our society and the U. S. that wants to examine and study Noli Me Tangere.The theme of the novel is to promote nationalism and to be given trade in ourselves is nonetheless applicable to us today. It teaches us the values of wisdom, hostilities what is right, and loving our country. Noli Me Tangere is a novel that was once an advisory for the Filipinos to combat against the colonizers and today's reminder of our history.This literary piece will mark in our hearts the values that the novel tells us to be a proper position model that will gain our country.For us, the book, “Noli Me Tangere” used to be created for power, electricity to gas the people's want for trade and liberation. The book itself is a fictional story, however it consists of the hidden fact about the corruption and abuse by the colonial government and the Catholic Church.

In Rizal's book, he expressed the growing national consciousness of many Filipinos who adverse Spanish colonial tyranny and aspired to obtain democratic rights. It also, flawlessly confirmed the ugly fact on how we, Filipinos has lengthy continued the slavery, corruption and abuse of the Spaniards. It not directly started the flames of revolution, it used to be a wake-up call for all Filipinos to break away from their trance of a so-called “harmonious and peaceful” relationship with the Spaniards. Noli Me Tangere gave us power, it used to be the seed that gave us the idea to quit being ignorant and it aroused our want for independency and freedom. Rizal's writing was once created to fuel the growing nationalism that will assist the Filipinos break free from the shackles of abuse.
