Motivation To Take Part In International Civil Engineering Student Symposium

With humble and due respect, with this letter I would like to express my interest to participate in the International Civil Engineering Student Symposium (ICESS) to be held in B. M. S College of Engineering, Bangalore, India. Having learned about the symposium from my colleagues who participated in the previous year’s event and now being able to participate in it myself, I am very excited and delighted. It is my opportunity to interact with several other like-minded students and professors from different countries and develop my personal and professional contexts. I have decided to apply for the participation because I am sure it would strongly enrich my future studies and help me in my prospective career. Moreover I consider it as a great opportunity to get learn about the ways to organize such events and implement the ideas in our very own National CESS Exhibitions and share the knowledge and experiences gathered there among my colleagues.

Having being declared the winner of the paper bridge competition in MechTrix 7. 0 with a 1. 2 kg paper bridge that withstood a load of 135kg without failure and having simultaneously participated in the external model competition of National CESS Exhibition demonstrating a working model of a vertical lift bridge, I have developed self confidence and teamwork abilities along with critical and creative thinking ability.

Since last three years I have been actively participating in various national sports and outdoor events as a coordinator, marshal and as VCR of the class, I have acquired considerable leadership qualities and teamwork skills that are required to manage and discipline a team and participate in the competitions as a team which is of utmost importance. I have also gained deep analytical knowledge, but more importantly, I have learned how to interact calmly and diplomatically with people. Having a great passion for learning from an early age, I have grasped every opportunity I could find to enhance my knowledge. Recently I participated in the site visit of Indrawati III Hydropower Engineering Project with final year students of Kathmandu University accompanying and assisting them in their final year project regarding rehabilitation, upgradation and maintenance (RUM) of the hydropower project and gaining basic concepts of hydropower engineering to assist me in my coursework in my upcoming semester.

Given my education, experience and interest, I am confident that I am an excellent fit for the team for the symposium. I have researched the program and determined that I am an eligible student to represent our reputed college in the symposium. I am confident that I can represent our reputed college in the international symposium and tackle every obstacles placed in the competitions.
