This is my dream job essay engineer where I will talk about my work experience in petroleum industry. I was university and I finished my academic education. After completing the education 20 years ago, I started my engineer career in Salyan Oil Company. I applied for a job vacancy at the company and I was successfully hired by the recruitment exam. Then I would not believe me if they said you would work for 20 years in the company and now I'm here. I am assigned an affinity quite well the main thing that attracted me by Salyan Oil Company was the modern profiles accompany the diversified population and the dynamic work environment for sure. I will always be grateful for the experience and trust that companyhas added to me over the years. It is not easy to move from university to job career, because courses are taught mainly in academic part at the university. You have to use your academical background in job career that you have earned at the university. Finishing a good university gives you a chance to stay one step ahead in life. You have to train and develop yourself with years of experience, outside university activities and internship programs contribute greatly for it. You have the chance to gain soft skills during the internship process and professional courses, such as leadership, teamwork, negotiation, presentation, project planning, problem-solving skills. You should always motivate and work hard for the best, it should be your motto that will lead you to success.
I joined Salyan Oil Company in 1999 and I started from beginning as a field engineer in Kursangi-Garabagli block. At that time, I was very new in job life. It was not systematic job, it was very dynamic. You are always exposed to something new different tools, different endorsement and different atmosphere, so you must always comply to the situation that you put as an engineer. For example, in my one year in the company, every day your challenge is something different, I had the satisfaction of working directly with engineers from two nationalities, which was a very rich experience to me. I was always looking for opportunities to learn new things and improve myself. Since I just started the company, I tried to learn the work process first. I had good communication with engineers and managers, which provided me with many conveniences. I was learning something from everyone and adapting myself to the working process. Even though the working process seemed difficult for me because I am new, everything returned to normal when the experiences started to be used. Besides my work, I was attending professional seminars and courses, learning the experiences of other engineers. Very early, you will know you need to reach your own personal boundaries. I was closely interested in the oil sector, not only Azerbaijan, but also the world. As a field engineer, I was walking around the oil field, monitoring the oil production and notifying the office if there was a problem and trying to solve the problem. I was checking oil production on a shift and was preparing a report on daily about oil and gas production and also I was analyzing the efficiency of the wells. I was preparing the reports, giving them to the head engineer and waiting for the orders. I was helping mechanical engineers to repair non-working artificial lift devices and also learning.
When I joined company, I should spend several hours in the field. At first, the field life is a challenge, but then you begin to get appreciate the benefits of field engineer with time. In addition to my field engineer work, I was getting information about all departments in the company. I was researching the departments that I wanted to work in the future, so I went seminars and trainings about this department. I chose the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department closer to myself and I started learning. My determination to learn and work made me get promoted in a short time. Thus, I became an indispensable engineer of the company and I tried to speed up here for years. And as a result of my determination and hard work, I got my first promotion. When I saw a job posting to the HSE department, I had already prepared myself for this position. I was promoted as Oil Spill and Cleanup coordinator of HSE department in 2001, so working in the company beforehand and knowing the working process contributed greatly for me. My new job was oil spill and its elimination without harming the environment. I was checking oil piping systems and making sure that there was no leakage anywhere. I took care to avoid leakage during oil transfer and storage. The oil spill is poisoning the soil and the environment, it could cause great damage to the ecosystem of this field area. I was doing inspections every week to make sure that this doesn't happen. In addition to the company affairs, I planted trees in polluted areas in the oil field. I applied to the company to make this a continuity, and this offer was met with great interest.
Thus, trees were started to be planted every year. During my working process, I attended the meetings of the company and made proposals to eliminate the problems experienced here. So I caught the attention of the company managers and I always felt their support behind me. As I always feel these supports and respect of managers, I have spent and spend great part of my career here. I worked as a coordinator at Salyan Oil Company for 4 years.
I was very responsible for the workers, apart from company employees, I was also responsible for the safety of the company guests and engineers of contractor-services companies, so I tried became very careful to avoid any health problems in the field. The engineers and guests were not allowed to enter the oil field without work clothes, gloves and helmets. If these clothes are not used during working process, it will cause the employee to be fired. The rules were very harsh and evident, everyone was obliged to comply for their own health. Human health comes first from everything.
