My Interest In Studying STEM On A University Level

The human body is made up of around 7 octillion atoms and 37. 2 trillion human cells; the product of around 125,000 generations of biologically successful human beings; it is a scientific marvel. Our body is not too far of a galaxy while our soul is the most shining star in it. I am a lustrous star lost in my inner whirlpool galaxy maze. My life statement: Life is a journey; it is a maze till you reach your final destination, no matter how bad the roads and accommodations are. Being the eldest kid, I had a strong relation with my parents that made me depends on them for everything. I feel that I am connected to my parents especially my mom more than my younger sister and brother.

When I was young, I was not connected to my sister as I am now, it is like while we grow up we started to have the same interests which helped us in becoming more and more friends along the years but still there is a gap between me and my younger brother as we have no similar interests and due to the gap difference between our ages which is 7 years. I was born on the 9th of June, 2000 in Giza and since then I have been living with my family. Something that I am really sad about is the death of my twin identical sister during the process of delivery, I think I was chosen by god to live in this life test and for me I feel that this means something; there is a purpose why am I here. I am 18 years now and I still think that it was going to be so fun if my twin sister was alive. Funny story about that is once my biology teacher told me that most of the cases when twins are being delivered and someone lives and other dies, the one who lived is the one who killed the other so I was the killer of my sister in the womb of our mother, this scared me so much, but after searching fortunately, I found out that this is not true and then the teacher told me that she was kidding.

Although this make me so angry but it is better to look at things in a positive way that is why I have wrote a short scary story with this theme. Roses are red, violets are not blue you cannot see me but I can see you. You wanted everything for yourself. No longer am I going to leave you. We were together but you preferred being alone. Being raised by two fascinating, and hardworking parents whom their main target is to improve, and encourage their 3 children in every aspect of life, this motivates me for not just being successful but also pioneer in my career life and every challenge I face throw my life to achieve this dream. The first station I had passed through my journey is school, I have the nickname of the best student of the year for nearly 9 years continuously and every year motivate me for the next to continue the list of Certificates for appreciation which I gain every year for not just getting good grades but also for my volunteering, school activities, efforts in organizing fairs and exhibitions. School was a horrible place for me I hated going there as I was subjected to bullying. My parents thought that this was going to change when I grow up. Unfortunately, this bad habit continued to grow with me till 9thgrade When one day, I got lost while returning home. I remember every single detail. My parents used to accompany me in my errands, but that day my parents were busy. So, I had to return to my home alone for the first time. I found myself in the wrong bus when it reached its final destination. Finding myself in a strange place, I was terrified, unable to do anything, even walking or talking. Having no credit, I waited for one of my family to call me. I waited for a long time, but no one called.

Finally, I decided to walk because if I stayed without taking a step, nothing would change. After half an hour of walking, I found a bus stop. I asked how to return to my home and people guided me. I took a bus to my house and started to calm down, enjoy the road and observe people. After two hours I reached my house, so happy. That day made me depend on myself, which encouraged me to apply for STEM school, which is a boarding one to experience living away from my family and being more sociable with people. I only knew about from one of my friends but sometimes great decisions that can change life is taken in just seconds while you are lost. In that day, I discovered the theme of my life story which is we all walk in a maze through which we experience, wait, fear, take risks and enjoy until we reach our final destination. After that day I was introduced to a whole new challenge which is applying to STEM high school, a school in which the method and style of learning are different from schools all over Egypt.

After hard preparation for nearly 3 months under the care and observation of my family, I take the required tests and was announced for being chosen as one of the 100 girls who is going to study in the school from 3,000 applicants. After enrolment in the school a torrent of challenges hit my life in which every challenge and experience I went throw I end up gaining a moral value for my life and a story to tell. One of these challenges was studying in English as for my previous education experience I was studying in my native language (Arabic). This challenge drives and pushes me to improve my language skill in a very short time. I continued coming across these challenges until I reached this critical point in which I should choose my career life and the university I will apply for. STEM system depends on Self learning style and project making. STEM has ignited my passion more for learning, asking questions and seeking for answering it, this has to come back to find an institution at which I am going to be able to successfully carry out my interest during college study, that is why I had choosed AUC; it was enough and suitable for me as it is really about people that are interested in both academic, career life, developing skills and research positions and for the possibilities available for students to build their potential and progress at all levels. I expect that studying there will provide a professional success in my career life, process a change in my thoughts, acquire critical analysis skills and logical thinking and improving decision-making skills which are needed for superiority in the professional life. Having a passionate curiosity for learning to push me beyond my limits for not being able to sleep unless I am satisfied with what I have gained. I always try to convince myself that I am in charge of my destiny and this is the time to face myself and look in the mirror. I will put the utmost effort into finishing my studies and achieving the best possible results. I am certain that with my intellectual skills and volition I will be a good student, considering my achievements in my previous learning experience.
