Understanding What is Your Motivation for Taking a Course in Criminology

What is your motivation for taking this course? In my essay I'm going to explain my interest in criminology. First of all, I find great pleasure in helping people as such, and criminology will lead me in a profession that will provide me with the opportunity to help people and save lives. From a younger age I always wanted to be a part of a team that solves problem in the community. Doing public service and team building activities in college make me even more interested in furthering my studies in criminology.

Whether in dealing with fires, floods, hazardous material spills, medical or other emergencies, it makes me feels good to know that the public can rely on the public servants to help solve a range of community type problems. I am confident when working as part of a team and I see myself as a strong team player. I have good communication skills and can interact with people at all levels. I enjoy working towards target goals that have been set out and I like to ensure that they are carried out and completed. I am a focused and reliable person, who is hard working currently looking to pursue my professional career in the public service. I want to be a part of a team that: can helps to put a smile on people’s face, attend schools and deliver presentations, and liaise with the public to advise on how they can look after their safety.

I am confident when working as part of a team and I see myself as a strong team player. I have lived by the philosophy ''together we stand, divided we fall''. If I am given the opportunity to be a part of the criminology course I will contribute wholeheartedly, I will work assiduously throughout the course. I am a team player who works well with others to achieve goals and objectives. I believe working as a team we can achieve so much more than working individually however that said I give a 100% when working individually. Its desirous of me to be a part of the West Midlands police not because its known as a noble organization but because it’s given individual the opportunity to work as a team.

I believe I possess both intrinsic and extrinsic attributes that will give me the opportunity to perform well, impact society, achieve set objectives and work well with others. I also believe that being a police it’s important to understand your environment and all the potential havoc that can cause dangers to people’s lives if something should go wrong. It’s always been my dream to become a police officer. Being that I have prior knowledge in public service and a range of skills this enables me to fit in perfectly into the criminology course
