My Pen Write In Blue And White By Vincent Cremona: The Influence Of Parents On Our Communication
In the last paragraph of “My pen Write in Blue and White” Vincent Cremona concludes that due to the fact of having two parents with different backgrounds, it has allowed him to diversify his style of writing and even affiliate his different style of writing with each other when needed. Moreover, Cremona explain how he came to acquire such skills to communicate by using “…blue and white collar” to explain his point of view in his personal essay. In Cremona’s view, he perceives blue as a simple, plain, straightforward way of communicating which he obtained from his father. Cremona states, “When I see things as blue, I mean that I view them as basic, bold, and workman-like. ” Whereas his father would be classified as a blue-collar worker, his mother on the other hand would be considered a white-collar worker. The influence his mother had on his communication style would be known more as a prestigious, respectful and professional way of communicating. Cremona observes that “His mother uses words with many syllables and plenty of letters. . . and spoke very proper and with a clear voice”. Regardless of being raised by two parents with different communicating style, Cremona found an efficient way to vary his communicating style and even affiliate each communicating style with each other when the opportunity presents itself.
While not many people may be able to relate to Cremona and learn two distinctive writing style from their parents, it is beneficial to be able to communicate in two distinctive ways. Not everyone is educated in the same way, and some are presented opportunities others are not. Similarly, my father would be a blue-collar worker while my mom would be a white-collar worker if following Cremona example. While my father may not be as educated as my mother, I was able to use what I learned from my father’s communicating style amongst my classmates or peers. While my mother’s more professional communicating style was beneficial to my knowledge when I need to communicate with my superiors at work. More than often, I have merge both of those when speaking with my peers.
Many people have parents which each come from a different class which many may see as an inconvenience but can also been seen as an opportunity to educate yourself to be able to hold a conversation with a variety of people regardless of their vocabulary.
