People In Today’s Society Claim To Be Victims Of Technology
I believe in today’s society that we have a very convenient access to many of our resources, in regards to demand and supply so this is why most people claim to be victims and blaming others when something is less convenient to access. I think that saying the people in today’s society claim to be victims is a valid statement, mainly pertaining to the younger generations who have more access to technology at much younger ages. Growing up without a lot of access to this environmental behavior and quick technology has given me more insight to being aware of the hard work it takes when certain resources are not available. When something is not easily accessible to me when I need it I know that it will take more work and patience to reach the goals I strive for.
I do not stand for the idea for acting as a “victim” but I do believe that the way our world adapts to more technology the more people will rely on this new technology and not try to work with the creative mindsets needed to go above and beyond the status quo. A time I felt believed to be victimized would be coming into college, I was very adapted to a specific technology that allowed things to be basically handed to me mainly in high school when I did not have very high expectations for myself. As a college student I now know to be successful and achieve my goals I really have to utilize my resources using a more creative mindset and elevating out of my comfort zone.
For students at a university we have a lot of pressure put on us due to high expectations from professors or our families so when things become difficult or stressful some students just give up and beg professors for extra credit when the hard workers excel. I treated my first college exam like I treated tests in high school and I felt very victimized not realizing how much work I needed to put in to get the results I wanted to make my professors and family proud. I understand now that you have to take things step by step and always be prepared in classes in regards to time management and creating new ways to adapt to specific, challenges classes. Having this type of mindset and knowing how much work it takes to make a difference in this community has given me so much more confidence in myself and reassurance in my college career. Just knowing that if I put in the right amount of effort and sincerely caring about how I use my time and commit to my studies, gives me so much confidence to just utilize my resources by talking to my professors, connecting with other students, and joining on campus organizations.
Utilizing my resources gives me so many opportunities to network in my community that gives me a basic skill set that I can excel off of after college when I start to search for my career. Once I get the career I want I know that it is still an opportunities to grow but I have to use my creative mindset to allow myself to continually grow and make a positive impact in the groups I work in and the environment of my community.
