Integrity in Action: Embodying Personal Values
Integrity is being honest and holding up to high morals and principles. It is important to have integrity so you are seen as a truth worthy individual. In integrity essay I want to share my personal statement about this topic.
If you are seen as untrustworthy then others are not going to want to be around you nor will they want to help you in you're time of need. It is always important to hold up to you're values in life and allow others to see that you are true to yourself. Integrity is seen as the top principle of leadership, because it seeks truthfulness and honesty. No matter how bad or ugly the situation may be, it is always important to be truthful and hold up to you're character. You want to be seen as a leader not a liar.
Throughout life you will create new relationships, whether it be work relations or out of work relationships. By living with integrity you are creating healthy relationships. and allowing yourself to live the best life possible for not only yourself but for others around you. You are showing others around you that you respect yourself because you are being consistent with your values and goals in life.If you are unable to uphold to promises made, then always let the other person know ahead of time. By doing so you are showing integrity by not breaking promises and sticking to you're word.
To me Integrity tells a lot about someones character. If someone can not hold up their end of the bargain then they do not have good morals in life. It is always best to at least try and let someone know that you cannot do something rather than just making yourself look bad in the long run. I always try to hold up my end and be as honest as possible. But life does throw things our way and you cannot always be the best possible you that you want to be. As long as someone is putting forth effort to show their integrity and honesty then to me that shows that they are worthy of establishing relations. Everyone hits rough patches in their life to where they feel they cannot rely on others, which then forces them to feel like they do not need to show they worthiness to others. Personally i have not always held up my end of the bargain and shown my full worthiness to others. But i am working towards being a better person. I am working towards showing other that i am worthy of their truth and worthy of their relation. I have been knocked down and am trying to pull my self back up and regain my integrity. Integrity has always been important to me, I want other people to see the value in me. I dont want others to see me at my worst and judge my character based off my actions during that time.
There are many ways to show integrity in everyday life and in a work environment. You show integrity but showing up to work on time, or by even being early. While at work if you are asked to do something you can write things down and mark them off as you complete them. Once they are completed let the person who asked you to do it know that it is completed, it shows that you stuck to you're word. If you are unable to fulfill a task, let the other person know the reasons why and try to find a way around it rather then just leaving them hanging. Communication is a big one if you cannot communicate with others then you will not be able to show or even hold integrity. You have to be able to speak with truthfulness and be able to hold up you're end of the bargain. You are setting examples and allowing others to see that you have good character and are responsible for you're actions. Another way for properly using integrity is, admitting your mistakes and allowing room for improvement. By allowing room for improvement you are setting yourself up for success. You want to be able to be seen as reputable. Holding a good repuations also sets yourself up for success. You are opening doors for others to trust in you and to see that you are a person filled with trust and integrity. Those are all very important qualities to uphold. Within the military it is important to keep a successful career, in order to keep a successful carrer you must be honest and truthful with everything you say. Being in the military is not like an ordinary job. You are working for the goverment, you have a very important job that you are trusted to do. If you cannot be trusted to do that job then you will loose the oppurtunity to uphold that position and will face the consequences of your actions. That is why it is always important to be truthful, be on time, show integrity, and be seen as a leader. Making mistakes within the military is not taken lightly.
It is very important to take responsibility for your actions. Even though you may take responsibility for your actions does not mean that will erase the repercussions you may face.
