Positive And Negative Influences Of My Generation

‘’Generation Z is the only generation at a risk of becoming dumber than its predecessors’’, does this statement sound familiar? As it may be partially true, this statement alone brings people to the assumption that all individuals of the generation are somehow of a lower intellect than most when the average teenager has yet to even finish high school. You don’t need to be a genius to know that individuals of generation z are pretty much addicted to technology at this points, they’re practically internet natives and have the ability to multitask, meaning that they can handle multiple objectives at the same time and still leave sufficient results.

For example, they can work on a school assignment on their computer and perform research on their tablet all while taking notes. Later in the evening they may even sit in front of their TV watching a movie while at the same time chatting with a friend on facebook from either their phone or laptop. But what people usually see are the negative influences of my generation and how their daily life that’s got anything to do with the internet is bad, rather than focusing on what’s good. Most generation z individuals are just starting to experience what life is like with 23 being the oldest age today and the lowest being 6 years old (as of 2018) within the generation z time frame (varies) and have yet to finish high school yet the older generations already judge them as ‘’the worst generation’’. As a matter of fact, most generation z individuals have stated that they would prefer to start their own corporation which might affect the society in good financial matters and because of them being so opened to cooperate with each other, this statement doesn’t seem too far fetched in my opinion.

People assume that generation z are going to end up dumber than their predecessors when most of them haven’t even finished high school yet. People are too quick to come to the conclusion that generation z are dumb, too focused on playing games or watching TV, but has it ever crossed your mind that the reason they’re spending so much time on electronics may be helpful for their daily life? These days when generation z individuals refer to help they get a few ideas of where they might get this help. Older generations would perhaps reply with going out, asking someone and experience the learning process through different experiences in the outside world and as this may relate with some individuals of generation z, most of them would rely on the quick accessibility of logging onto a computer and simply googling it; a fast and extremely simple way of finding any information about any topic you might ever wonder about. It’s an environmentally good process and nowadays most kids prefer learning from a digital screen rather than physical books, why should this be a bad thing? Having the ability to call and meet up with their family and friends at any time is a good way of extending their communicating skills too. Most of generation z are as of today at the age of 6 to 23 (assuming that the generation z time frame lasts from 1995 to 2012), this means that they are just beginning to experience their life as an adult and have yet to prove whether they are more than capable of taking over the society, which makes the quote ‘’Generation Z is the only generation at a risk of becoming dumber than its predecessors’’ invalid because they simply haven’t had enough time to prove themselves justice. Generation Z are very optimistic about their future, in fact, nearly 63 percent of the Gen Zen interns surveyed by the firm in its 21st annual International Intern Leadership Conference of EY, that they feel confident about them doing better, both financially and in happiness, than their parents when it comes to entering the workforce.

Most of generation z plan to start their own company, this may look bright for future finances. Generation z might become the most entrepreneurial age since the millennials, which is proven by a Gallop study that ‘’eight out of ten students in grades five through twelve say they want to be their own’’. Yet another study even explain how almost three fourths of students want to start their own business and this idea may even become reality because of, not only how easy it is to start your own company today, but also because of the fact how willing generation z individuals are to cooperate. Because generation z tend to be so competitive, they tend to prefer to start their own company rather than waiting others to consider choosing them over the millennials. Generation z individuals are also very competitive and because to them ‘’Collaboration is Key’’, teens are establishing businesses that could more than enough compete with others’. Because of their willingness to cooperate they are sure to raise their productivity and advance technology a lot further, after all: ‘’Two brains are better than one’’, as a matter of fact, fourteen are also better than one!Because teens are so immersed in the internet and how well they trust their friends and family; they are willing to try out things that they hear from close ones rather than a stranger, because of how active gen z individuals are on the internet they have a high likability to trash talk or promote their own products through social media, thus raising the selling as well as the productivity of the company.

The internet is not bad, only those who use it. The first thing we know a child of gen zen would do when they don’t know the answer to something is to check it out on google. Because of how normal the internet has become over the years and how many people use it, it has become the biggest way of channeling information from one screen to another. This type of use of the internet is also environmentally friendly, if you for example want to write an essay or research about something etc. Mailing and messaging has become very common and contacting your long lost brother or sister on the other side of the world is much more sufficient and is now free. One, very common belief, is that most games are bad, but that is not necessarily true as some games are specifically designed for learning and I myself can brag about having learned most of the countries and flags as well as capital cities of the world simply from games. Internet’s effect over society is currently creating economic, social, and political changes all around the earth. It's clear because of how of many people, communities, cultures are accessing the internet in their everyday life. Even what we do, how we think and our communication skills on the internet are showing an effect on our society, whether it be positively or negatively.

The internet can be good for most things, for example helping others stay in touch, sharing important information and making daily everyday tasks easier, like shopping or paying the bills. Of course, there tend to be certain cases where people are threatening lives across the internet but those cases have nothing to do with the common life of simply doing research or simply trying to organize a schedule. In conclusion, generation z do not deserve to be called ‘’dumb’’ mainly because all do not fit into that category and it would not be fair to judge a whole generation based of a common misbelief when most have yet to reach adulthood and the fact that most older generations have a very stereotypical view that the internet is considered bad Generation z has yet to determine their (bright) future and ‘’judging a book by it’s cover’’ is not right.
