Iran being a nuclear power had faced an era of downfall in the past years. The rule of Muhammad Raza Shah before 1979 was the restrict the people of Iran under an authoritative system. There was no concept of Islamization but only religious violence all over Iran. Shah tried his best to diminish all the traditions and customs of Iran by initiating ‘White Revolution’, a move towards westernization. Finally, this oppressive era came to an end when ‘Ayatullah Khumeini’ came up with an idea of Islamic revolution in Iran. The main idea of this revolution was to keep the Iranian people away from the western customs and revive the Islamic code and conduct based on Quran and Sunnah. ‘Khumeini’ succeeded in his mission by making Iran as the first Islamic Republic.

Hassan Rouhani

Iran’s seventh president Hassan Feridon also known as Hassan Rouhani started his life carrier as a cleric and a lawyer. His political carrier was started in 1979 just after the Iranian revolution when he was elected in the legislative assembly of Iran. March 2013 is the month in which Rouhani decided to step up and participate in the presidential elections. His initiative was liked by the people and he won the elections with majority of votes by his side. The major issue that was faced by President Rouhani just after the oath was the sanctions on the Iran’s nuclear program. For this purpose he made several dialogues with P5+1 to solve the issue of nuclear activities in Iran. After solving this issue, automatically the Iran’s economy and it’s GDP rose.

The 2nd rule of President Hassan Rouhani started in 2017 just after his previous one. People loved the initiatives taken by him in his previous regime and trusted him again. He defeated Ebrahim Raisi in the 2017 presidential elections, this time by 57% majority votes more than the previous. Majority of Iranian younger generation was involved in Rouhani’s win because of good economic conditions that they experienced. But once again in 2018, the US president Donald Trump forced sanctions on Iran’s nuclear activity by disobeying the agreement done before. This was the reason that rose a battle between Iran and United States in terms of trade and international linkages.

International Linkages

During Hassan Rouhani’s regime as a president the relation between Iran-Pakistan had grown up. Imran khan as the head of the Pakistani state visits Iran and President Rouhani assure him with all the good policies including foreign, economical and trade. Beside this Iran’s president backed Pakistan in every difficult situation and made him sure that if they want any kind of military help Iran is there to step up.

United States as an enemy of Iran from many past years either it’s the issue of sanctions or any Muslim ban problem. Still there relations are going towards bad conditions. Supporting countries are there to stand with their partners in this condition but there are countries which remains silent throughout the issues just because of hiding their stance about the current issue so they can have good relations with both the countries.
