Reflection On Visiting The Movement Theatre In Georgia

The Movement theatre is an ideal place to understand better modern Georgian culture and look at the theatre from the other side. Since the actors tell the story only through movements, there is no language barriers, and the theater tries its best to please everyone, no matter from where visitors come. I visited the theatre on 27 September when they performed “Perfume,” which satisfied me very much. The theatre quite impressed me, and I think it is certainly worth visiting. Entering the theater, visitors will instantly find themselves in the world of fairy tales. The dancers perform in the air dances like tango, and fascinating melodies suggest that you escape from everyday life and stress. Throughout the year the theater organizes a variety of events such as performances, concerts and even dance lessons. With the start of the new season, every week the theater offers its guests an even more diverse program.

The performances are based on music and movement, so languages are not required to be understood. There are also jazz evenings every Tuesday and Thursday, and after 9 pm the admission is free. I got on the production of “Perfume. ” The presentation was shown in the framework of international competition, and there were many foreigners as a jury. Firstly, this is an ideal place for tourists due to the relaxed atmosphere and the game without words. One will undoubtedly understand everything. Secondly, the storyline is clearly visible, although, it’s better to be familiar with the script. Thirdly, I liked the choreography and acrobatic elements. However, one should not expect the level of Du Soleil. This is an experimental genre with the appropriate level, but it is indeed impressive, original, inspiring and it is worth a visit. It was an unusual performance. A fascinating action took place on the stage under the cheerful rhythms. The light, sound, costumes, movements of dancers and trapeze artists greatly impressed me. The very modern performance stirs the mind and leaves a long and pleasant aftertaste. Concerning the setting and interior, it is a genuinely unique, atmospheric and eclectic place. There are so many items in one space that there was not enough time to see everything in details. The lobby is replete with antiques that visitors can examine for a long time. Moreover, there is a bar, and opposite the theatre there is a small shop with homemade wine. I think it is an excellent combination of places. While waiting for the event, the spectators drank wine in the lobby.

During that time, I met wonderful people who became my friends. The spectator seats are comfortable with free seating and are located around the stage or close to it, which creates a feeling of belonging to the action. One can be an actor in the auditorium and a spectator behind the scenes. There are great jazz parties in the theatre, and it was a pleasure to listen to the music. Overall, this is a fantastic place to look at the theatre from the other side. If a person is tired of touristic sites, he or she has to come here and get new sensations and emotions. The theater is lovely, and every detail is extraordinary. The musicians are professional and very talented. This place is a must-see in Tbilisi. Even if one does not know the Georgian language, he or she will understand everything.
