Report On The Novel Childhood's End By Arthur Clarke
One meaning of childhood's end is that the end of a personal life and a new comes from that. One reason why I think that the author chose that title because of how a title can show a lot. Also, the author of the book is Arthur Clarke. The genre of the book is science fiction. The setting of the book is on planet earth. The exposition of childhood’s end is at the beginning of the book. The start of it is that the overlords stay they will take over the world. When that happens the Freedom league and the world nations talk about what they need to do. After that, we find out why the overlords hide their faces. The reasons why they hide their faces to not show that they look like demons.
After all that the overlords make a paradise with enough restrictions to start conflicts. The conflicts of childhoods end are man vs god or gods. The reason why I say it is man vs gods is that the overlords can be an example of gods. The man is the society against the alien life force. Another conflict can he man vs society. One example of how it can be man vs society is by the overlord's against the People when their restrictions don't comply with the people ideas. The rising action of the novel is when there is conflict over the conflict over conflict. One of the conflicts of the book is when some of the people think that the overlords are oppressive in their golden age. Another conflict is when a person takes a journey and represents the overlord's control and ambition. Lastly, the final conflict is when the rebels are against the overlord's decisions. That is the all of the rising action of the book.
The climax is when karallen reveals the true intentions of overlords. The true intention of the overlords is to make humankind go down the path of Overmind. The Overmind is to the children. It shows that karallen has to save the human race by not letting them go extinct. Karallen is the main person of the climax. The falling action occurs when all the plot lines tie themselves altogether. Most of the falling action in the book is when humanity has to deal with the loss of all future generations. Then later is the manipulation the overlords used on George and jean. After all that the last man on earth watches the beginning and the end of the human race. The end of the human race is the conclusion of the story. The resolution of the story is the end of humanity and the birth of another aspect of the Overmind. When after all of humanity is gone jans look over when the world is destroyed. The only character left is the overlords also that's all. The only resolution of the novel is that the overlord's mad humanity extinct. The end of the whole book is humanity is all gone. The main character of the novel is the overlords or to be specific is karllen.
Karllen is one of the overlords but the supervisor of humanity. That overlord has large wings horns on its head and a barded tail that is an alien race. Lastly, the main character of the novel as karellen has been called out more than one time in the book. One reason why I think this is the protagonist is that he does not know the truth about the overminds true plans for the humans. The antagonist of the novel is the Overmind. The Overmind is a consensus of the overlords or just above them. Another antagonist of the novel is the overlords because how they take over planets and make a new government and a new society. The Overmind and the overlords are things as an alien race. That is why the Overmind is an antagonist.
My favorite character of the novel childhood's end is karellen. The reason why this alien is my favorite character is that it helps them in the end. When it helps them is by seeing the overlords real plan for the human race. The real plan for them was to make them go extinct by leaving their homeworld. That is why that alien is my favorite character. The story message is showing that a first not to trust an alien life force. That first message means that when something or someone comes to someone's territory do not trust it till you trust it. The other message of the novel is science, trust, life, freedom. All of the themes might be different but they intersect at the end of the novel. By the first theme as trust, life, and freedom it could be the death of humanity and freedom of people.
