What is Possible Role of Resilience at the Workplace
Our decisions can be perfectly taken only if we are a resilient and patient leaders in our contemporary work, as resiliency is just like a key to take our decision perfectly whereas it helps us to decrease our stress and tension, this article is made by Rich Fernandez and published in 27th of June 2016, it is taking about a prevalent problem among people which is how to manage their stress in their work and how to balance between a lot of tasks at same time, it also tackles the theme of resiliency which is the core of this article, in fact, it’s considered as a kind for boosting people to do their work with optimism from tension or even stressor, the purpose of the article is offering a solution to suppress the tension in the work by resilience which is an answer for a common question for people who is working and managing several tasks at the same time and they are not capable of depriving their stress, actually, the intended audience for that article are people who are in work and bound to lots of tasks that are questioned to be ready at a certain deadline, resilient leadership is a way for perfection and satisfaction from perturbation that leads to a perfect decision, resiliency is one of the best keys that makes me deal with my tension and stressor during my exam at my college, it taught me patience and to not take the decision out of a sudden.
I thought that resilience is about how to be resilient person among people, for example, if I am in a team work, I should take the team opinion and accept it as it is, in fact, I thought it is the flexibility that I have to accept what people saying and doing it, besides that, I agree with the author as he answered a common question among people who are exposed to tension and stressor, resiliency is one of the keys for making a perfect decision as it makes people think and decide patiently, they will also have the flexibility to receive several tasks in their jobs and do it perfectly, so they can see that their taken decisions have achieved unexpected goals, Rich Fernandez while working as a director at Google, he stated an example for the resilient team work that pointed out the effect of resiliency “I’ve seen over and over again that the most resilient individuals and teams aren't the ones that don’t fail, but rather the ones that fail, learn and thrive because of it” (5 Ways to Boost Your Resilience at Work), so that, to be a perfect leader in our work, we should be a resilient one in our lives either it is a work or private life, the one who has the flexibility to do many tasks at the same time, and this will lead us to satisfied by ourselves.
Furthermore, I feel that this article is taking about an important common problem whereas, people are facing nowadays, which is how to be capable of doing their tasks perfectly with the presence of stressor and tension, actually, I have been exposed to such a situation like that in my college during exams period, I was waiting for a minor result (the courses that I am going to enroll in until the end of my college), and suddenly I knew that I’ m going to take minor literature until the end of the college, in addition to, I have to study literature for my tomorrow’s exam and I have to get my sister from the Airport because she was abroad for a long time, what I have done is not to talk this day, I just need silence, and I was thinking how did that happen in just one day, how am I going to deal with, but after that situation, I make a decision that made me satisfied, life is all about exams and situations, the more I expose to situation the more I will be resilient and patient leader in my life, by the time and by the situations that we exposed to we learn how to be resilient leaders in our coming situations, we become wiser in our decisions.
In the future, if I am in the same situation, my response will be the same, I will just stay in silence, asking myself how I can act in the same situation, whereas, I experienced lots of situation like this during school period, but the wisest response is in the last situation, as we said before, the more I expose to the more I will be resilient and patient leader in my life, and according to Rich Fernandez, he stated that “resilience is built by attitudes, behaviors and social supports that can be adopted and cultivated by anyone” (5 Ways to Boost Your Resilience at Work), moreover, the article partially changed my reaction and thoughts, it actually added to me how can I be capable of balancing between receiving a bad news although the stressor and tension exams period and tasking my private life, the author offered five ways to boost my resiliency if I exposed to this situation in the future, the ways that I am going to do to be a resilient leader are taking a break and avoiding thinking in this situation for a certain time, giving myself compassion and optimism that is helping me to be calm to act as a resilient person throughout situation, in fact, we should behave with the way that we should give a value for our dignity, and do what is make us satisfied, because if we are calm that is mean that we are flexible, so that, we will decrease our tension and stress to make the perfect decision.
Finally, this article is talking about that resiliency is the main effect to decrease the stress of the work in order to be capable of doing several decisions perfectly, from my point of view, The more we expose to situation, the more we become wiser in our decisions, whereas, situations do not reveal others identity but it also reveals ours, so we make decisions which match with our identity to be satisfied from inside, moreover, I learnt that we should behave in any situation with what we are satisfied with, because if I am satisfied with what I am doing, my resilience will increase by the time, and I will definitely go out of the labyrinth of stress.
