Should Students Be Allowed to Use Cellphones in School

Administrators often take notes on their phones as part of teacher observations. Some teachers, coaches, and counselors use their cellphones in school settings, too. It may not be permitted, but they are allowed to do so without the same consequences as students. Why shouldn’t students be able to do the same? In should students be allowed to use cellphones in school essay I will analyse this quastion.

Cell Phones have been banned in a plethora of schools. Students and some teachers don’t agree with this decision. Phones can be used in many ways can help them complete and stay on top of their game. These tools can also help teach students including being used as a learning tool. Cell phones give students access to tools and apps that adapt better study habits, including time management and organization. Is the school doing more harm than good? While students may pay more attention if their teacher is teaching a lesson with Tiktok students should be allowed to have their phones in school because it is a great learning tool, it will help teach students responsibility, and it will help keep students interested in school.

First, students should be allowed to have their phones in school because it is a great learning tool. According to Oxford learning, educational learning apps on students' cell phones make a great learning tool. Students use their phone almost everyday, if they had learning apps on their phones they would be more excited to use them. “Although they can be used as a learning tool in the classroom, this only works as long as students use them effectively”. “These tools can also teach students to develop better study habits, like time management and organization skills”. When phones are used as a learning tool, students will be more interested in learning. Cell phones can have many apps that can help students understand their classes better. Sometimes students find information that the teacher doesn’t even know! Students are always experimenting with different apps and finding new applications to learn about. Phones are what all the youngsters are using these days and they are hooked! Being able to have your phone in school is a privilege. Which must be earned.

Along with cell phones being a learning tool, this study proved phones are a great educational tool and they help teach students to develop better study habits. Additionally, it will help teach students to adapt better study habits. Edweek stated, A school in Ohio has rules set in place so the students must put their phone in cubbies before class starts and may retrieve it after class. If certain rules like this one are placed students will most likely develop these rules at home. “Well-designed mobile learning apps such as those produced by Pocket Prep allow students to take study breaks and pick up studying exactly where they left off”. “Being able to pull out a phone or tablet and study while on the go can make a big difference in someone's academic success”. Cell phones help teach students Flexibility because they can manage when to use Instagram and go to complete their schoolwork. If they are in a situation where they don’t have Wi-Fi they can take their phone and go anywhere.

One of the reasons to allow phones in school is because it will teach students time management. This will help them shape better study habits. By the same token, using Social media can help keep students interested while in school. Using social media to teach can help keep students interested in learning. Social media is a fun way to interact with everyday people. It helps keep youngsters alive. ”You want to give your students a good reason to follow you on social media. Providing valuable, relevant resources and updates that they need to know is a great reason”. “If you want to keep your students engaged, give them an opportunity to do so! Social media, after all, is most beneficial for everyone involved when actual social interactions take place”. “Want to keep students active on your social profiles? It definitely helps if you feature some students on the schools social channels”. Not only will the cell phone be a learning tool but, it will also work as a way to interact with others. Incorporating discussion boards within teaching will give every single student a voice. It is guaranteed that everyone will be heard. Students will be more eager to learn if it means being able to socialize. It sounds like a win-win to me! My position was defended by credible sources relating to using social media to keep students interested in school. Using social media is a great way to teach. This action means a more engaging audience, an impact on making sure everyone's voice is heard, and a potential advantage to having oddball students be more social.

To say nothing, Cell phones are great tools in case of emergencies. Information provided by kindred healthcare states, Medical ID and contact information can be accessed by an emergency responder even if a phone is locked. This information could save a person's life. For example, if you were being kidnapped in your school and you were in an empty classroom hiding. Instead of dialing “911”, all you have to do is click your phones off button 5x’s and the police will be there in seconds. Apple has made getting in contact with 911 that much easier! ”Every day, patients are brought into emergency rooms or other medical scenarios”. “With Medical ID, essential medical and contact information can be accessed by an emergency responder even if a phone is locked”. “Medical ID can quickly and easily be set up by the phone's owner”. I have analyzed the given piece of information to prove that the article uses empathy to help relate to the reader. Several factors show that. The language suggests that having a medical id on your phone could save your life. Having your phone in school is essential in case of an emergency. Your parents will want to know where you are at all times. They will also need to know that you are okay and safe. The safety of a child is significantly more important than the school banning iPhones. Changes can be made throughout schools to take new directions. Speaking of the article, I should say that the most important recall by the author is the use of phones for emergencies. Both the author and I are right. While the author believes that phones are quite handy tools to have, I know the importance of time and that a single 911 call can save a life.

As well as, having cellphones in school can help teach responsibility. Raising Children states mobile phones help teach responsibility. You can encourage your child to be responsible with their phone by showing them. They will learn when to use their phone because not everywhere is appropriate. You can also teach them which websites or apps they aren’t allowed to be on. In school teachers will tell students what is allowed in their classroom and what isn't. ”Responsible mobile phone use is about managing costs, sticking to family rules, keeping phones safe, and being respectful”. “You can encourage your child to use their mobile phone responsibly by modelling responsible phone use yourself”. “It’s a good idea to discuss and agree on mobile phone rules with your child”. “Rules might cover what your child uses the phone for, and also when, where and how much they use it”. If students are allowed to use phones in school, this will teach them responsibility. By allowing phone usage in school they will adapt to the rules set in place and will slowly start to follow them. Although they won't like the rules at first, they will later in life learn that their loved ones only wish them the best in life. To conclude, allowing phones in school will help teach students responsibility. The rules that are set in place in school will also be adapted for the rest of their lives. Students will want to use their devices but they will be taught that they can only use certain websites and apps. Finally, students should be allowed to have their phones in school because it will help keep students interested in school. According to Lexia, we shouldn’t get angry at students playing games. Instead, we should consider how instant access to the outside world can help students develop a passion for reading and learning. They can even connect topics they already know and improve their learning skills. “If you can’t beat them, join them”. “This can be the key to providing adaptive learning strategies without singling students out”. “Students must master time management to succeed, and training them to use phones appropriately and prioritize their learning is a beneficial lesson in digital responsibility”.

To conclude, students should be allowed to have their phones in school and with the knowledge that it is a privilege which can be taken at any known moment. Phones are so great because they aren’t connected to the wall. Phones go wherever we want them to go. They should make cell phones allowed in school. I proved my position in this paper.
