Symptoms Of HIV - A Sexually Transmitted Disease

HIV which is a sexually transmitted disease have become a treat to the current society. Currently, this disease has no cure. It has been found that the disease affect over millions of people around the world and the number of HIV patients are getting increased day by day. About 50,000 new infections are reported annually. Most importantly people must be aware of the symptoms of HIV. People who are affected with HIV will have a flu-like illness for a month or two after they are getting exposed to this virus. The hardest part of it is that these symptoms are mistaken most of the time for other viral infections. Thus, we need to be careful in getting to know and identify this viral infection. We can see that people are very infectious during this period.

Symptoms under different stages of HIV

These symptoms may appear and disappear over several years. These symptoms can vary in type depending on its stages a severity from person to person. unfortunately, some people might not get any symptoms for many years at all. Soon after the symptoms are found, and testing is positive, people need to do immediate treatments because, the virus replicates in the body of the patient and will cause more and more damage to the immune system.

  • According to the stage one (acute primary infection), some people might get flu. This will not last long and will get only some of the flu symptoms or may be sometimes none. Stage one symptoms may contain body rash, sore throat, headache, upset stomach and fever.
  • Stage 2 which is called the asymptomatic stage will be where this virus will still be active by infecting new cells and making its copies. This will cause severe damage to the immune system.
  • In the last stage which is the third stage of this condition will show symptoms like, weight loss, chronic diarrhea, fever, mouth and skin problems, and night sweats.

It is very important to have a better and correct knowledge on the symptoms of men and women. The very common HIV symptom we find among women is the presence of abnormal cells in the cervix when a pap smear is completed. The symptoms in men seems to be very similar to most of the viral infections. These includes rash, fever, tiredness, swollen glands, they may have fever, headache, tiredness, sore throat, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, swollen lymph nodes, muscle aches and joint pain along with it. Remarkably you may see that these symptoms disappear within a week to a month. Moreover; severe HIV symptoms like unexplained fatigue, rapid weight loss, frequent fevers and profuse night sweats will not appear for about 10 years or more after this virus enters the human body.

Finally, it is important to take up necessary precautions if you are under this dangerous disease and at the same time it is better to get aware about the symptoms of this disease for the betterment of the society around us.
