The Biography Of Steve Jobs, The Founder Of Apple Company

Introduction

“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else's life.” This quote reminds us about the life Steve Jobs has lived. Steve Jobs was one of the greatest inventors of his time and he has done lots of great things that has changed and affected our world in a good way, like his creation of Apple. Apple is a company that creates technology such as PC’s, IPhones and IPads.

Early life and Young Adult

Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. Steve Jobs parents were Abdulfattah Jandali and Joanne Scheible. When Steve Jobs was born he was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. Three years after Jobs was born, the Jobs family decided to adopt another child and that child was Steve Jobs’ sister, her name is Patti. As a kid, Jobs loved to watch his dad work on machines and gadgets. Steve got to use tools such as hammers, screwdrivers and saws at the age of 5.

Steve Jobs went to Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, he graduated from high school in 1972 and went to Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He didn’t like college because he was too bored, so, in 1974 he decided to drop out of college and began to work with a video game maker named Atari. After Jobs started working with Atari, a few days later Jobs decided to go to India to learn about Zen Buddhism.

Career

A few years went by and Steve Jobs and his old friend Steve Wozniak went to Jobs’ garage and made a PC, Jobs decided to name the PC, the Apple 1. The reason Jobs chose the Apple was because his favourite food were apples. In 1976, on April 1st Apple Computers came into business, each Apple 1 Computer cost $666.66. The reason the price was 6 repeatedly was because Steve Wozniak liked to repeat numbers, Steve Jobs would also go to work barefooted. On April 24, 1976 Apple made the Apple 2 PC.

In 1980 Apple started trading and buying, and Jobs wanted an expert marketer from Pepsi-Cola named John Sculley to take over the role of CEO at Apple. He told John that he wouldn't want to be a drink seller for the rest of his life, so John agreed to take the role of CEO at Apple. In 1984 Apple introduced the Macintosh, the Macintosh was Jobs’ idea but the Macintosh wasn’t as good as a PC another software company made named IBM. John Sculley thought Jobs was doing something bad to Apple. In 1985 John complained to the board of Apple, and Steve Jobs disagreed with John, but the board agreed with John so they fired Steve Jobs from Apple.

Family

In 1991 Steve Jobs married a woman named Laurene Powell, they had 4 children who were Lisa Brennan-Jobs, Eve Jobs, Erin Siena Jobs and Reed Jobs. Lisa Brennan-Jobs was the eldest and she was born on May 17, 1978 and she turned out to be a Author. The second child was Reed Jobs, and he was born in September 1991 and he is learning at Stanford University, the third child was Erin Siena-Jobs and she was born on August 19, 1995 and she attended Stanford University and studied architecture. The youngest child that Steve Jobs had was Eve Jobs, and she also studies at Stanford University.

NeXT and Pixar

After Steve Jobs got fired he decided to start a new software company named NeXT, NeXt made computers like Apple, Jobs spent over 5 million dollars to make NeXT a successful company but it didn’t work out. However, NeXT made great computers that were as good as the PC’s Apple made but people bought Apple computers because the NeXT computers were way too expensive. In 1986 Steve Jobs paid LucasFilms 5 million dollars for Pixar. 2 years later, 1988 Pixar made the Pixar Image Computer 2, it was a great computer but it was expensive.

In 1991 Disney partnered with Pixar to make movies, the first idea was Toy Story and everyone liked the idea so they all started working on the movie. It was 1993 and one of the employees put a stop to Toy Story due to disagreements that they had. 1 year later the problem was solved so they continued with their work on Toy Story, then in 1995 they released the movie Toy Story, it was on the theaters and many people bought tickets, Pixar was doing an amazing job.

Back in Apple and Death

In 1996 Apple decided to buy NeXT which meant that Jobs got his job back at Apple but he was the interim CEO. A year later, the board of Apple fired the CEO of Apple, so Jobs took his place as CEO. Steve Jobs only got paid $1 a year as a salary but he didn’t really mind getting $1 because he would still get lots of money on the future products that Apple sold. When it was 2001, October 23 Apple released the IPod. In 2003 Pixar released Finding Nemo, and Apple also introduced ITunes. In 2003 Jobs found out he had pancreatic cancer and he was really worried. In 2006 Disney bought Pixar for 7.4 billion dollars, and most of the money went to Steve Jobs. On 2007 January 9, Apple introduced the IPhone because the old IPhones were way to big, so Jobs thought there should be a device which can fit in your pocket.

On 2008, January 15 Steve Jobs presents the MacBook Air and on March 6 Apple released the app store, to download apps and other stuff. On 2009 he asked a biography writer named Isaacson to write a biography about him before he passes away, and Isaacson agreed. On 2010 January 27 Jobs introduced the IPad, because since there was a IPhone that could fit in your pocket they decided to make a bigger version of the IPhone. On 2011, October 5 Steve Jobs died because of his pancreatic cancer, he was looking at his children and his last words were “Oh wow, Oh wow, Oh wow.”

Conclusion

Steve Jobs has done lots of great things for society with his company Apple, Apple was his key to becoming famous. In his time Apple made great computers, but people were copying their ideas, and the CEO of Apple thought Steve Jobs was doing something bad so the board fired him. He had to face many obstacles but nothing stopped him, so he made a new company called NeXT which was a software company like Apple. He had to spend over 5 million dollars on NeXT but NeXt wasn’t doing very good. He spent 5 million more dollars for Pixar and partnered with Disney to make movies, and they were a successful company. After 10 million dollars, he got his job back in Apple. He has impacted many other companies by giving them an idea of what good technology is, without him we would have never had the advanced and easy-to-use technology we have right now.
