The Driving Passion Of A Late Bloomer
People travel through their normal daily routine wondering if they will ever really achieve that little thing that sparks a fire inside them the most. Not everyone realizes that they have the same potential for the passion that's just waiting inside them for a chance to sprout and bloom. I believe everyone can become great at something he or she is truly passionate about even if their a bit of a late bloomer when coming to it. When I was younger I never dreamt I would have such an enthusiasm for art as I do now. Similar to most children within elementary school I use to love to draw. Scribbling on paper with my crayons were the highlight of my school days. Around the age of ten I stopped drawing altogether on my own. That passion for art still burned inside of me, but I never really tried to release it again. The only time my passion saw the light of day anymore was during art class. Sometimes I thought about picking up a pencil and doodling on my own again, but seeing my classmates who seemed far more advanced when coming to art compared to me made me think. Why try it when I’m not that great at it anyways?
My sophomore year in high school I found my passion for art again. I would find myself winning my first ribbon from the Arizona State Fair. My second ribbon meanwhile was from my school’s annual art show. Though I was glad to find myself winning these awards I don’t believe they fully made me into the artist I am today, but they did play a part in it. These awards showed that hard work actually does pay off. I didn’t start off knowing much about art, nor was I someone who had been doing it for very long. That never meant I couldn’t learn it and grow over time to become great at it though. I love that I’m able to reassure them into believing they can because I have myself. I remember standing within their shoes not too long ago. Doubt ran through my veins without me even being well aware of it at first. When you hear stories of others who’ve achieved great titles at such a young age for their work it can be intimidating to try and step on the same stage as them. I wasn’t born the most talented drawer in the world instead I learned to become one through my passion that I thought would never really come back, yet did.
Passion is something that drives people. Your passion may dwindle away, but it’ll return stronger than ever before when the time is right. Despite that you might seem to be late in learning about it as a late bloomer it isn’t a bad thing at all because in time you’ll grow to become better. The most important thing to remember is that you won’t ever stop growing because the moment you start to grow you can only continue to bloom.
