Fantastic Trilogy: "The Hunger Games" By Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games is a novel in a trilogy created by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games takes place in a futuristic city called Panem. Panem has thirteen districts surrounding it, within one of those districts is a sixteen year old girl named Katniss Everdeen. Katniss lives with her mother and sister in a poor community that often goes without eating. Once a year an event called the reaping occurs. The reaping is how people are chosen to take part in the Hunger Games which is a cruel game that forces teens from opposite districts to fight to the death. One boys and one girls name are drawn from a bowl and are forced to participate. When this event came up Katniss’ sister Primrose was chosen to participate but in a panicked and shocked state Katniss volunteered to take Primroses place. From there Katniss is taken along with the boy that was chosen, Peeta, to the Capitol. They both train for the game and meet there competition from the other districts. The Hunger Games begins and Katniss has to fight for her life in order to survive and go back to her family. Alliances are made and broken throughout the game and the ending is shocking and leaves you guessing and wanting the next book.

This book was very enjoyable and never had a dull moment. It has been one of my favourite books to read. It is very descriptive and easy to picture what is happening throughout it. I would suggest this book to anyone who enjoys reading fictional novels. It’s not to big and will not take you long to get through. In my opinion The Hunger Games is worth the read and will leave you wanting more. I would not change anything in this book, the way it is written and every detail added is important to the plot and ending. I was overall very happy with this book.
