The Impact Of Technology On Our Life And Work
Since technology has been introduced to the workforce, many jobs were replaced. People especially from low class became unemployed due to the advancements made in technology. Jobs like military, cashiers, assistants and even drivers are being replaced by robots. Some people even argue that industrial jobs will be completely replaced by robots.
In my point of view, I think financial analysts will be replaced by AI technology. Basically the financial analyst’s job is to regulate and spot a trend in the stocks market so that institutions could adjust their portfolios, thus making them millions of dollars. To make more dollars, financially analysis softwares which are artificially intelligent are replacing humans. These softwares tend to read and recognize upcoming trends and match with historic data and predict future moves. This means there will be less mistakes and provide accurate data to the investors. No human errors will affect the market. The softwares are stupid fast than the human brain so investors will know when to invest or draw their money. But a computer lacks creativity and judgment unlike a human being so that means the analysts will not lose their jobs completely.
Banks have also introduced robots to carry out daily transactions. The jobs that will be least affected, according to me, will be those working in health care and medicine. It is true that computers are used to store the patient’s data, keep record of viable measurements and assist the doctors. But there are many things a computer can not handle ; like making tough decisions from irrelevant data, performing surgeries or understand what the patient is going through; his emotions. If the computer malfunctions in the middle of a surgery or prescribe the wrong medicine for similar symptoms, then life threatening consequences are occurred.
Well technology has completely changed our lives in ways people could never think of. So I will mention about the positive impacts. Businesses now offer online shopping and the goods will be delivered in hours. Even in supermarkets self checkouts are increasing which are helping customers to pay and check out fast instead of waiting in queues. Education are now easier to access all thanks to the Internet. Students can now study from their homes and at their pace. Communications are now easier. Earlier people used to send letters which could take days. But now, no matter where they are even in space or underwater, it takes only a few minutes to send a message. But there are negative impacts also. Addiction to social media apps, invasion of privacy and malfunctions in industrial sectors are some of the disadvantages of a technological world. What matters is that technology has made our world more smaller and our life more easier.
